Pottstown: Healthy Lifestyles Expo hosted by Rep. Tom Quigley (R-Mont.) will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at the Sunnybrook Ballroom, 50 Sunnybrook Road. In addition to a variety of nonprofit organizations and public programs operated at the local, county, state and federal levels, many area hospitals will also be on hand. Health screenings and lunch will be offered for free to those who attend. Workshops will also be available on topics such as protecting against fraud, estate planning basics and fall prevention tips.

Birdsboro: The SRGA TrailKeepers will hold a workday on the Thun Trail at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Participants will meet at the trail head on Route 724 east of Birdsboro across from Fork ‘n Ale. Work to be done includes tree and brush removal, trash pickup and drainage ditch repair. Rain date will be Sunday, May 7. In the event of questionable weather, call Greg Marshall at 610-780-3195. Schwenksville: 9th annual Schwenksville Community Day will be hosted by the Borough of Schwenksville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, rain or shine, at Meadow Park, 300 Main St. (behind the firehouse). The event will be filled with music, activities, food, crafters and information. It is organized by the Schwenksville Borough Activities Committee, along with many other local businesses. The Order Sons of America Camp 387 will kick off the opening ceremony by raising the U.S. Flag, followed by The Pledge of Allegiance.
Oaks: Mother’s Daythemed crafting event for children will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, rain or shine, in the Main Pavilion at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, New Mill Road. Explore around the pavilion area for natural objects like nuts, acorns and leaves, and then use them to craft a decorative bowl or leaf-print card. A Park Ranger will be there to help participants identify the collected leaves. This program is intended for children ages 5 and up with an accompanying adult. There is a $4 suggested donation per crafter for supplies. All materials will be provided. Participants should call 610-666-5371to register by May 5.
