Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

On June 21, there were three pages in The Mercury of sheriff sales, people losing their homes. I watched PCN on TV the same day. I heard nothing about property tax relief or anything. What’s going on in Harrisburg? They signed a pension bill and passed it and the governor signed it and it’s not going to help with the pension deficit for 10 years. People are losing their homes. It’s about time Harrisburg steps up and gets something done.

A Very Unhappy Senior Probably On Next Page Of Sheriff Sales

I don’t have to remind everybody it’s that time of year again, time for the property tax bill. Have to forget all the repairs on the house. I think we should all get together at the office of Rep. Tim Hennessey in North Coventry and give him our tax bills. Any comment?

I was watching the Phillies and the Cardinals game on TV and they wanted to come out and have a talk with the Cardinals pitcher and they had to bring an interpreter out there to talk to the pitcher. If those people want to come to this country and play our sports and make the big money they should have to learn to speak English or they don’t play.

No matter what happens you’re going to be OK in the end.

Donald Trump said he had a very secret plan to defeat ISIS in 30 days. It is now day 153.

I see Donald Trump hired 100 lobbyists in his White House and he said when he was running for office that he would keep special interest people out of there. Well you know how it is, you scratch my back, I’ll scratch your back. You put a little money in my pocket, you know what I mean.

To the person who responded about the Route 663 bridge and the curing and all that stuff, the original caller has a valid point. If you tell the public the bridge is going to be open in March and it’s still not open in July, they have a right to complain; and besides it doesn’t take four months to cure concrete.

During the presidential campaign Donald Trump said on numerous occasions that the election was rigged. Now that he has miraculously won the election the notion that the Russians were involved in our electoral process is not shared by your leader. Why does he not even want to address an issue that is being vigorously investigated? Why did he and most of his cabinet lawyer up like they have committed a crime?

What is the name of the flowers in the Pottstown High Street hanging baskets?

Wondering if anyone knows and can let me know where we can find the awesome and best Dr. Saisal Chaudhry from TriCounty Pain Management? If so will you kindly place a phone number or address in Sound Off. Many patients miss him and hope he’s still in the area. Thanks so much.

I’m calling to report on Manatawny Street near the railroad if Douglas Township workers could please cut that down so people can see to come through. We almost had an accident.

Calling a sitting president a poisonous snake is disrespecting the presidency but referring to the MO of a former president is simply relating history.

If you want to see a good show go to Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster. It’s called “Second Chances: The Thrift Shop Musical.” It was excellent and the food was also good. We had flank steak sliced real thin.

I’ve never understood why our dogs run to the door when they hear the doorbell. It’s never for them.

Even when we’re physically limited, a smile, a word of encouragement, a prayer or a display of faith during our trial can be used to help someone else. Do what you can with what you have.
