Joanne McLaughlin, 77, of Limerick, died at home from cancer on June 15, 2017.

Joanne was the third child of Mary and Boyd Sinclair, of Coalport, Pa. Joanne was the consummate mother and grandmothe­r - always involved in and committed to the success and happiness of her family. She touched many hearts and shaped many lives.

Joanne was a 1958 graduate of BCI High School in Coalport, Pa. Following graduation she moved to Philadelph­ia where she began her career. When her children were old enough that she could return to full time work Joanne joined Albert Einstein Medical Center on Old York Road in Philadelph­ia. After more than 20 years at Einstein she was recruited to the American College of Physicians, from where she retired 13 years ago.

She enjoyed swimming, cycling, and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed a variety of activities, including bingo, socials and splitting Powerball tickets with her friends in the William Penn Villas.

Joanne was loved and admired by all those who were close to her and respected by all who knew her. Her passing is a sad occasion for all. She will remain in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Mary Jane Steele. She is survived by her three children, Gerald, Mark, and Marianne; by her nine grandchild­ren; by her sister Nancy and brothers James, John, and Thomas; and by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Roman Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Joanne on Friday, June 30, at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta, located at 256 Swamp Pike in Schwenksvi­lle. Joanne’s family and friends are invited to share time together before the mass in the church from 10 -10:45 a.m. A Roman Catholic memorial mass will be celebrated for Joanne on Monday, July 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the church of St. Basil the Great located in Coalport, PA. A graveside service will follow the memorial mass.
