Natural Lands plans 2 outdoor music events
Natural Lands is hosting a pair of outdoor music events at two of their Chester County nature preserves this September.
Beats and Brews will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m at the 112-acre Binky Lee Preserve in Chester Springs.
MiZ & Friends, featuring Mike Mizwinski, will jam through the evening in celebration of 50 years of the Grateful Dead. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online (natlands.org/beatsandbrews) or by phone at 610-353-5587, ext. 221.
Proceeds from Beats and Brews will go toward Binky Lee Preserve and Natural Lands’ $5 million fundraising goal to create a 500-acre nature preserve at Bryn Coed Farms, which the non-profit land conservation organization recently purchased. More than 500 households have already contributed to the Campaign for Bryn Coed Farms, but there is still a $540,000 shortfall.
Just one week later on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Roots and Bluestems will rock the rolling hills of Stroud Preserve, 454 North Creek Road, West Chester. Fresh from the Philly band scene, Man About a Horse and Sparkle Pony bring high energy, toe-tapping, new grass Americana. Tickets are $30 per Natural Lands member or $40 per non-member and can be purchased online (natlands.org/rootsandbluestems) or by phone at 610-353-5587, ext. 221. (Not a member yet? Both events include craft beer donated by Victory Brewing Company. Each ticket holder will receive two free beers; additional beer will be available for purchase along with food truck fare.
