Club News in Brief
Valley Forge:
Karen Dobson of Pottstown, president of the
Pilot Club of Valley Forge, was one of 620 Pilot members from four countries who convened in Las Vegas in July for the Pilot International Annual Meeting and Leadership Conference. Those attending the event participated in leadership training seminars, varied workshops, fundraising events and the election of the Pilot International officers for 2017-18. Dobson also accepted a Pilot International “Volunteer Service Award” for the club’s many projects and contributions in the local community. In 2017-18 the club is raising funds to assist “Alpha Bravo Canines,” a Philadelphia-based organization which raises and trains service dogs to assist veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI and combat related disabilities. The club’s major fundraiser to support this group is a craft and vendor fair on Oct. 14 at the Kimberton Firehouse. Other Valley Forge Pilots attending the convention were Nancy Swart of Elverson, Northeast Potomac district governor, and Alicia Fox of Phoenixville, Northeast Potomac district secretary.
