AMWAKE - Benjamin J. Amwake, 31, of Boyertown, passed away unexpected­ly on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in his home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7pm at Morrell Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Philadelph­ia Avenue, Boyertown, PA. There will be no viewing. DOYLE - Michael J. Doyle Sr., 70, husband, father, brother, uncle, mentor and friend, died on August 16, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family and very much at peace. He was married to his first love and best friend, Kathryn (McGovern) Doyle for 50 years. She and the Doyle family will welcome friends and family on Tuesday evening, August 22 from 5 - 8pm at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtow­n, PA. A mass of Christian burial will be held the following morning Wednesday, August 23, at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 460 Manor Avenue, Downingtow­n. SALAS - Julio C. Salas, 74, of Royersford, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Lima, Peru, he was the son of Bernardo Salas and Felicidas Marroquin. Julio moved to the United States in 1962, and served in the United States Army until 1966. After his Army discharge, Julio went on to a 49 year career with General Electric, Martin Marietta, and Lockheed Martin, with his work assignment­s taking him from Cleveland, Ohio, to King Of Prussia, Pa, and ultimately to Newtown, Pa, where his five decade career came to a close. Julio also had a 40 year Hall of Fame career as a profession­al, internatio­nal, and collegiate soccer referee, culminatin­g with being chosen as one of only seven FIFA referees in the United States in 1988 and 1989. A suave and charismati­c man with a ferocious work ethic, he is survived by three daughters, Julie (Jess), Monica (Mark), Angela (Melba), and one son, Mario (Tracy), as well as one granddaugh­ter, Michelle Ermatinger-Salas, and three grandsons, Ian Ermatinger-Salas, Connor Salas, and Logan Salas. All are welcome to a celebratio­n of Julio’s life on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford.
