Route 422 road rage suspect under arrest

A Berks County man who allegedly displayed a gun during a road rage incident Sunday has been charged.

NORTH COVENTRY » Police have charged a man after he allegedly displayed a handgun to a victim on Route 422 Sunday.

Thomas Holland, 44, of Barto, Berks County, was arrested Sunday after a victim called police to report the incident.

North Coventry Police said that at approximat­ely 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, they responded to the area of Route 100 and Route 422 East for a road rage incident where a gun was displayed. It was reported that “a man in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe pointed a handgun at the victim and continued to travel eastbound on Route 422.”

Police stopped the vehicle in Limerick and a 9 mm handgun was recovered from Holland, police said. Police have not specified what circumstan­ces may have led to the incident.

Holland was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristi­c threats, recklessly endangerin­g another person, possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned on Aug. 20 before District Judge Michael J. Cabry III and is scheduled for a preliminar­y hearing on Sept. 11 before District Judge Leonard J. Brown. He was unable to post the set $50,000 cash bail and is being held at Chester County Prison.
