Haverford squeaks by Perkiomen Valley

Andrew Burkhardt carded a 4-over 40 to take low-man honors, but it wasn’t enough as the Perkiomen Valley boys golf team dropped a nonconfere­nce match against Haverford at Raven’s Claw.

HAVERFORD 220, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 221 » Andrew Burkhardt’s low-man play for the Vikings was negated by a one-point loss to Haverford in a non-league match at Raven’s Claw.

Burkhardt’s 40 was three strokes better than Haverford’s duo of Emmett Fox and Rilie Quarter-maid, both of whom shot 43s. Jackson Gentlemen checked in with a 44 for PV.

Girls golf

GREAT VALLEY 169, BOYERTOWN 201 » Liv Juliana shot a 3-over 38 to pace the Patriots to a PAC win over the Bears at Twin Ponds Golf Course.

Amanda Heins followed with a 43 while Kelly Brown and Mae Sharaf rounded out the GV scorecard with 44 strokes apiece. Savanna Haas took low-round honors for Boyertown, finishing up with a 43 while Kat Kovatch and Kylie Wood each finished at 52. DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 180, PHOENIXVIL­LE 187 » Grace Simensen was the star for the Phantoms in their PAC match at Whitford Country Club.

Simenson shot a 42 to lead Phoenixvil­le, which also got a 43 from Morgan Frampton. Grace Hickey gained low-score honors for Downingtow­n West with a 37. METHACTON 193, SPRINGFORD 223 » Emma Lawrie shot a match-low 42 to lead the Warriors to a PAC win over the Rams at Linfield National.

Riley Thomas followed with a 46 while Susan Schafer turned in a 51. Gabby McHugh and Aleena Ghanta each finished up at 55 strokes for Spring-Ford in the loss.
