Bally: An Outdoor Concert featuring Freely Give gospel trio will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, rain or shine, at Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Route 100. Free will offering to support missions.

First UCC

Royersford: A blessing of the children and backpacks will take place at the 9:30 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St, held in the air conditione­d social hall. A Pathways to Peace community gathering will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the church. This worship service and discussion is also sponsored by Royersford Church of the Nazarene and Church of the Epiphany to gather as a community to pray for and work toward peace. Bring a chair or blanket. All are welcome.

Spring City: A New Members Class will be held today at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, in B1 (Green Room).

There will be special music on Sunday by Sam Turley, a sophomore at Owen J. Roberts High School. He plays a variety of instrument­s including the euphonium and trombone. He is a member of the OJR marching, concert, and jazz bands, orchestra, and chorus, and in the fall he will be playing with Bravo Brass (part of the Philadelph­ia Youth Orchestra) and the Chester County Youth Orchestra. He also plays bass guitar each week with the worship team at his home church, Royersford Baptist. Bethel Christian Preschool Parent Orientatio­n will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

First Presbyteri­an Pottstown: Blessing of the Backpacks will take place during the 9:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church. Sunday School orientatio­n will be held immediatel­y following worship.

Barto: Special Music will be presented by Koreen Mace during the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: A Blessing of Backpacks will be held during Sunday worship services at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road. Members of the church will distribute 270 backpacks to local schools during the week.

Mount Carmel UMC

St. Peters: There will be refreshmen­ts available to all after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyvil­le Road. Volunteers will work at “In Ian’s Boots” at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. For more informatio­n call 610-4599151.

Pottstown: A Vocal Solo “Amazing Grace” will be sung by Merly Culbreath at both the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: Members of the community are invited to share their prayer requests using the Prayer Wall located on the front lawn of Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. These requests will be lifted up in prayer during the regular Sunday morning worship service at 9 a.m. Orders are currently being taken for Trinity T-shirts and polo shirts. The cost is $10 for the T-shirt and $20 for the polos. An additional $2 will be charged for 2X and 3X shirts.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: Special music will be offered by Valerie Schlegel during the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Community Clothing Rack will not be open for distributi­on on Wednesday since this is the fifth Wednesday of the month.

Coventryvi­lle UMC

Pottstown: The second annual Free Fun Fair will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road. Crafts, food, a moon bounce and

more. The Thrift Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

Vincent Mennonite

Spring City: The 32nd Annual Country Fair and Antique Tractor Show including a Chicken Bar-B-Q will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, rain or shine, at Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Road. Admission and parking are free. There will be an antique tractor show and parade with hit and miss engines, toy tractors and antique cars, craft tables, church youth lunch stand, children/ family activities including magician, moon bounce, and Gospel Bluegrass music by The Horst Brothers. The Chicken Barbecue Dinner is from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children.

Shenkel UCC

North Coventry: Members of Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road, will serve the Community Meal at noon on Monday at Christ Episcopal Church, 316 East High St., Pottstown. This program is sponsored by the Pottstown Cluster of Religious

Communitie­s and has been feeding residents of Pottstown for over 40 years. There is no restrictio­n on who may attend the meal.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: Elisa and Chase Bartolini will provide a vocal duet “Rock-a-My Soul in the Bosom of Abraham” as the special music at the 10:15 a.m. worship service at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. Reminder to parents and children that Sunday School for all ages begins on Sept. 3.

Brownback’s UCC

Spring City: Tom and Jenni Roth will be the guest speakers at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, discussing “Can Do Kids,” an organizati­on in which our Missions Committee provides support. Following a Word for All Ages, all children and teachers are invited to join together for a Blessing of the Backpacks. All are invited to remain after the service for Social Hour in Fellowship Hall.
