College to host info sessions to help Antonelli students

-

To assist Antonelli Medical & Professional Institute students, Montgomery County Community College is holding four special information sessions for students to learn about the programs and opportunities available.

Antonelli Medical & Professional Institute, a private trade school in Lower Pottsgrove, announced on Friday that the U.S. Department of Education denied the school the ability to grant federal financial aid. For that reason, the school is conducting a “teach-out” process, allowing students who are enrolled in their final modules to complete classes or externships. Students that are not yet in their last module of class or on externship will be provided information about their options to complete their training at another areainstitution. The school will not begin any new classes or programs.

MCCC offers accredited Medical Assisting and Medical Office Assistant programs that could align with programs offered by Antonelli Medical & Professional Institute. To earn credits for courses they took at Antonelli Medical & Professional Institute, students will be able to take challenge exams or undergo prior learning assessment.

Information sessions at MCCC will be held on Monday, Aug. 28, at 11:30 a.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m.; and Friday, Sept. 8, at 11:30 a.m. All sessions will be held in South Hall Room 121 on the West Campus, 101 College Drive, in Pottstown.

Those unable to attend any of these sessions, but would like to be contacted about the programs, can complete the form at mc3.edu/ampi.

Representatives from MCCC’s academic advising, financial aid and admissions departments will be available to answer questions and provide direction.

Students still have time to enroll this fall in MCCC’s 10-week courses that begin on Sept. 27.
