Harper R. Diener, 84, of Boyertown
Harper R. Diener 84, of Boyertown, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Mifflin Center in Shillington where he was a resident since July 29. He was the husband of Joanne (Schmoyer) Diener whom he married on March 31, 1956.
Born in Douglassville, he was the son of the late Minnie (Updegrove) and the late Harper R. Diener.
Harper was employed at Neapco in Pottstown for 11 years as a shop custodian. He was also employed at Cannonsaw in Phoenixville for 8 years as a general laborer and finally, at Robinson Clay in Pottstown as a branches for 27 years.
Harper was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C. in Boyertown. He was a life member of the Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Company. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a daughter, LuAnn Houck, husband of William of Douglassville, a son, Dane Diener, husband of Sherry of Green Hills. 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and 1 great-greatgrandchild.
Harper was preceded in death by his brother, Augustus Deiner.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10:30 am at Morrell Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories. Morrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
