Ruth M. Lawless of Norristown

1937-2017

Ruth M. (Lick) Knabb Lawless, age 80, Stanbridge St., Norristown, died Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Manor Care Rehab Unit, Upper Merion Twp. She was a former resident of Graterford and lived the past 25 years in Norristown.

Ruth was born on March 3, 1937, in Pottstown, to the late Paul V. Lick and the late Anna V. (Reifsnyder) Lick Krastel.

Before she retired, Ruth was a clerk typist with the prothonotary office, at the Montgomery Co. Court House, Norristown. She previously worked at the Westover Golf Club, W. Norriton Twp.

Ruth was a lifelong member of Peace in Zion United Church Of Christ and a member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Rose M. (Knabb), wife of Robert Thees, Lower Pottsgrove Twp., and Robyn L. (Knabb), wife of Robert Spicer, Centre Twp., Berks Co.; her sister, Pauline, wife of Theodore Hahn, New Hanover Twp.; 10 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, and one greatgreat-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her children, Carol A. (Knabb) Ott, Barbara J. (Knabb) Sciancalepore, and Charles Knabb; and her siblings, Kenneth Lick, Loretta, wife of Bruce Krastel, Hilltown Twp., and Gerald Brodie, husband of Elaine Brodie, No. Coventry Twp.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 23rd at Peace In Zion United Church Of Christ, 204 Big Rd., Lower Frederick Twp., with the Rev. Barbara M. Pence, Pastor, officiating.
