Mary L. Steiner of Stowe

1953-2017

Mary L. (Sassaman) Steiner, age 64, of Stowe, PA, passed away peacefully at home following a year long battle with ALS. She was the loving wife of Robin Steiner, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage.

Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Mary L. (Heil) Sassaman.

Mary was a 1971 graduate of Pottstown High School. She earned an Associate Degree in Art from the Montgomery County Area Community College and was recognized for her art accomplishments and received various awards.

She was also a massage therapist and holistic practitioner. Mary was a lover of animals, especially her granddog Cooper. She supported various wildlife organizations.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: Daughter – Shannon Finney (Ed) of Stowe, PA, Son – Ryan Steiner (Kimberly) of Stowe, PA, One Grandson – R.J. Steiner of Stowe, PA, Sister – Cathy Trostle (Brian) Pottstown, PA, Brother – Joseph Sassaman of Pottstown, PA

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter – Amy Steiner and her sister, Margo Pollick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary’s Life Celebration 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc. 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Intement will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
