Elizabeth G. (Grater) Smith, 85, of Pottstown

Elizabeth G. (Grater) Smith, 85, of Pottstown, PA, widow of Harvey L. Smith, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA.

Born in Norristown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Long) Grater. Mrs. Smith was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. for 41 years as an operator and facility assignor, until she retired in 1992. Mrs. Smith had attended Trinity Reformed U.C.C., Pottstown and was a former member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Pottstown Flotilla. She was a member of the AARP of Pottstown.

Surviving is one daughter, Freda L. Clouser companion of Richard Sierocinski, Pottstown; two sons, Edward J. Keyser and his wife Janet, Phoenix, AZ; H. Clayton Smith, Pottstown. Two granddaughters, Allisyn wife of John Byrne, Tuscon, AZ; and MaryAnn Keyser, Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Friday September 8, 2017 at the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Burial will be in Trinity Christian Reformed Cemetery, Skippack. There will be a viewing from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society or SPCA of choice.
