Gilbertsvi­lle: Rep. Marcy Toepel (R-147th Dist.) is partnering with Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg and members of the Pennsylvan­ia Department of Veterans

Affairs to provide veterans with benefit informatio­n and discount cards on Friday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at her office, 1885 Swamp Pike, Suite 107. The Recorder of Deeds will be processing veterans discount cards, which offer discounts for goods and services from more than 400 participat­ing county merchants. To receive a discount card that day, veterans are asked to bring their original DD 214 and photo identifica­tion. No registrati­on is required. Phoenixvil­le: The second annual Best Psychic Fair will be hosted from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the corner of Bridge and Main streets by Best Psychic Source. There is no cost to attend, only for purchased goods and services. Visitors can also enjoy local craft and food vendors. Best Psychic Source is staffed by passionate profession­als who are driven to help people answer their deepest questions and desires. Schwenksvi­lle: A joint township Movie Night will be hosted by Upper Frederick, Upper Salford and Lower Frederick townships at a free showing of the movie “How To Train Your Dragon 2” at beautiful Spring Mount Ski Slope, Lower Lot, Spring Mount and Clemmers Mill roads. Chester Springs: A Civil War Living History Day will be presented by the 97th Pennsylvan­ia Volunteer Infantry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at The Mill at Anselma, 1730 Conestoga Road, Route 401. This is a family-friendly organizati­on of local Civil War re-enactors who join in battles and camps to preserve the memories of the soldiers and civilians that lived during the Civil War. Civil War tents will be erected on site, visitors will be educated on the life of a Union soldier and the duties of a Union chaplain, rifle demonstrat­ion will take place throughout the day along with a display of mid-19th century ladies clothing and children’s games. In addition the Mill will be grinding corn just as it was done over 150 years ago.
