I’m calling about the article in the Mercury that they’re going to import radioactive waste from Canada to Royersford. Isn’t that ironic? We send all our good jobs overseas and now we’re importing radioactive waste so we can provide jobs for temporary workers as it said in the paper who are exposed to radiation. Isn’t that lovely.

I’m calling for the person who has blankets and clothes for the folks in Texas. The number to call is 1-800-728-7825. It’s The Salvation Army and they can direct you from there.

Lyndon Johnson may have signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 but if it were not for the Republicans it would not have been pushed to the forefront of the agenda. The Democrats wanted to bail on it. Get that through your head. Democrats lie.

The Harvey hurricane was not a natural occurrence. Katrina was not a natural occurrence. The drought in California was not a natural occurrence. Wake up people!

I agree 100 percent with the Readers’ View of Lee Hallman from Gilbertsville in Saturday’s Mercury. I thoroughly agree with everything he said. Read it folks and tell us what you think. God bless our children. Dot from Spring City

Martha, the subject was clerical sexual abuse of children. It must have hit a nerve. I stand by the facts that those who sit in the pews week after week and do little to demand accountability are contributing to the delusion, denial and lies that continue to unfold. Perhaps it takes one from the outside looking in to call attention to this perversion. Prayers will not help. It takes action by those who financially support these sick leaders. DP

With it being Labor Day on Monday most Americans were off including the Phillies’ pitching. Just Saying

This is for the person who called about a drivein theater. There’s one in Orefield. It’s called Shankweiler’s Drive-In. The number is 610-481-0800 and I kind of think they’re only in till about Sept. 15. They have hamburgers, hotdogs, turkey and pork BBQ, soft pretzels and all kinds of stuff. That’s your answer.

I am so happy that the little stand on Farmington Avenue was open this year. The produce is wonderful and very reasonable and the people are so nice. You can’t beat the prices anywhere. A Regular Happy Customer

This is to the person who asked if anybody believes still that the Russians had anything to do with Trump getting elected to office. Yeah I think one person does. His name is Robert Mueller. We’ll see what he says about it. Stay tuned. More to come.

Hey Disgusted With Sound Off, after looking at your examples it seems you only have a problem with researched or well-reasoned conservative points of view and Jim Fitch’s comments are usually just humor. I’m sure you’re happier with comments like Tea Party’s revisionist history of the Democrat KKK being 200 years in the past and the Republicans somehow being affiliated with those hate groups. For the professor, I suggest that you research your knowledge of addiction before making comments. Fact

I don’t know who said Donald Trump should not get his pay as president if he shuts the government down. Donald Trump said he’s not taking any pay. That wouldn’t hurt him anyway not taking the pay. He’s a multimillionaire. He has so much money he doesn’t need the pay. People should watch TV and keep up with the news. He never said he was going to take any money for being president. Maniac Sam

To the person wondering if anyone still believes Russia was involved in the election, over half of the population believes it. You don’t hear much about the investigation because the grand jury proceedings are not made public. The bits of information that we do get indicate things are getting worse for Trump, not better.

Now that it’s been proven that former FBI Director Comey lied to Congress about exonerating Hillary Clinton before he even interviewed her, he should be in the cell with Obama next to the cell with Clinton and Loretta Lynch. This has got to be the biggest cover-up in United States history. Lock them all up. They’re all a bunch of liars. Trump was right.

This is to Jay Miller. Now I know where you come up with all this crazy fake news stuff, watching The Rachel Maddow Show. When they capture terrorists they ought to force them to watch her show for an hour. After 15 minutes they’ll tell them anything they want to know.

Hey, even Don Rickles is a better choice than the other alternative was back at election time. Think about it.

I read Donald Trump gave $1 million of his own money to the Texas misfortune. I didn’t hear that Clinton and Obama gave anything. What does that say about them? All for themselves. AA
