Helen (Dadey) Sochko 69, of Sinking Spring, passed away September 13, 2017 in Fox Chase Cancer Center.

She was the wife of Michael Sochko.

Born in Reading and raised in Birdsboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Albert J. Sr. and Bertha T. (Bahr) Dadey.

Helen was a 1966 graduate of Daniel Boone High School. Helen was a self-employed cosmetolog­ist for over 50 years. She was a licensed cosmetolog­ist by the Bryland Beauty School.

She worked at a number of retirement homes through the years including The Hawthorne, Elmcroft, and Green Hills Manor. She also worked at several hair salons; starting way back at Boscov’s in 1967, Fayemarjae, JC Penney Salon and most recently Dawn’s Hair Care.

She was an active member of West Lawn United Methodist Church. Helen was widely known for her energetic personalit­y and fun humor. She was the epitome of strength by raising her three children as a single mother. She worked tirelessly to always provide a family trip to the beach or a day at the French Creek pool. Helen actively attended numerous events and sports of all of her grandchild­ren and children.

She was an avid Eagles and Flyers fan. She would often showcase her undeniable luck during trips to local casinos: Valley Forge, Hollywood, Sands and the Tropicana in Atlantic City.

In addition to her husband, Michael, she is survived by two daughters: Bridgette (Boyer) Levanovitc­h, Shillingto­n, Kristie (Boyer) Moyer, wife of Norm Moyer, Douglassvi­lle, and one son: Richard Boyer Jr., and wife Emily (Smith) Boyer, King of Prussia; four grandchild­ren: Alex, Alissa, Kayden and Trinity; a fifth grandchild, Richard D. Boyer III is expected on December 1, 2017. Helen is survived by a sister Gloria D., widow of Kenneth Wyville, Henderson, TX; and brother Albert J., husband of Janie Dadey, Reading.

She is predecease­d by her first husband, Richard D. Boyer, Sr., who passed away in 1987.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 22, in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Birdsboro. A viewing will be held on Thursday September 21, from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
