Bethel UMC
Spring City: World Communion Sunday will be celebrated at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road.
New Hanover UMC
Gilbertsville: Celebrate Recovery “Finding Hope in the Storm” from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike. This will address the opioid crisis in our community through worship, testimonies and prayer, giving HOPE to those affected by addiction (addicted, a loved one’s addiction, loss of a loved one to addiction), bringing the community together in unity, because the opioid crisis has no boundaries.
Sacred Heart RCC
Royersford: The Blessing of the Animals will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 838 Walnut St. Parishioners and members of the community are invited to bring their pets (with up-to-date rabies shots) for a blessing from Pastor Father Gorka.
First Presbyterian
Pottstown: The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at the 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at First Presbyterian Church as the third graders are welcomed to the Lord’s table. The annual CROP Walk is being hosted on Sunday to raise money for hunger. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and the walk begins at the church at 2 p.m. The community is welcome.
St. Luke’s Lutheran
Obelisk: A Community Day event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. This event will feature activities, music and food for the whole family. World Communion will be observed at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. Holy Communion Services on Sunday.
St. James Lutheran
Limerick: An Apple Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road. A silent auction, tractor ride, moon bounce, children’s games, tractor rides,craft tables, and bake table are part of the activities. Lunch will be available. A flea market will start at 8 a.m. All proceeds go towards mission trips and the local food pantry. The festival will also feature a special lemonade stand raising funds for local Spring-Ford eighth grader, Corrine Hare, who is battling cancer.
St. John’s UCC
Pottstown: World Communion Sunday will be celebrated during the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 11 St. Price St. The church will be the first rest/refreshment stop during the CROP Walk on Sunday afternoon.
First UCC
Royersford: A fall rummage sale will be held from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. Stop by for hidden treasures, books, clothing, etc. a bake sale and food. World Communion Sunday will be celebrated and the Neighbors In Need Special UCC Mission Fund collected at the 11 a.m. worship on Sunday. Kathy Bieski will be filling in on the piano.
St. Luke Lutheran
Gilbertsville: The Community Clothing Rack will be open for distribution from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Shepherd of the Hills
Bechtelsville: Hurricane relief monetary donations will be received at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansville Road, until Oct. 8. All funds collected will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse. An alternate visitor’s training will be held at noon on Sunday for those who could not come on prior weeks.
St. Paul’s UCC
Pottstown: World Communion Sunday will be celebrated and donations for Neighbors In Need will be gathered at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St. Members of the church will participate in the CROP Walk, beginning at First Presbyterian Church at 2
p.m. on Sunday. Coventryville UMC
Pottstown: An “Anything Market” will be hosted today from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coventryville United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road. All are welcome to come and browse the tables for treasures and bargains. Lunch items will be available for purchase. The Thrift Shop will be open at the same time.
St. Peter’s Lutheran
Pottstown: World Communion Sunday will be celebrated at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. Church Women will host the WELCA Meeting of the Upper Montgomery Lutheran Bible Study on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon in the church parlor. Church Women will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Devotions, Joy Taglieber; hostesses Nancy Dunning and Sherry Mann; guest speaker, Rose Daegele will speak on the topic, “Savings with Coupons.” The Spoken Holy Communion Worship Service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday. All are welcome.

Pottstown: The Women’s Fellowship Meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, will feature Angela Reid Quashigah speaking about her life as owner and director of the Mustardseed preschool in Malawi, a landlocked country in SE Africa. Angela’s grandfather was Zionist’s favorite pianist Stanley Emery Jr. Angela’s involvement with the Peace Corps led her to Africa where she met her husband. They bought land and founded the school for over 100 students which operates on $200 a month. All are welcome, both men and women, to hear about their lives dedicated to this African mission of teaching and enriching the lives of a hundred 2 to 7-year-olds.

North Coventry: World Communion Sunday will be celebrated at Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road, with one combined service at 9:30 a.m. World Communion Sunday offers congregations a distinctive opportunity to experience Holy Communion in the context of the global community of faith. Spring City: The Chancel Choir as will as the Kids Jam group will be singing at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road. All are invited to Fellowship Hall

Menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice. Cost is a free will donation to the Relay For Life Team “Calvary United Cancer Crusaders.”

Pottstown: The Sisters in Spirit Women’s Ministry will host its Fall Luncheon at 1 p.m. today at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, North Keim St. World Communion Sunday will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, designed to promote Christian unity and ecumenical cooperation focused on an observance of the Eucharist.
