Thomas R. Babacz, 77, of Phoenixville

Thomas R. Babacz, 77, husband of Mary Ann (O’Connell) Babacz, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, October 2, 2017.

Born on October 16, 1939 in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Dr. Teofil and Frances (Gojlewicz) Babacz.

Thomas worked as a Civil Engineer, and was Vice President at STV Inc., in Douglassville, PA, until his retirement.

He was secretary for the American Society of Civil Engineers, founding member of the Architectural Engineering Institute, president of Consulting Engineers Council of Pennsylvania, and fellow member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

He was president of the Phoenixville Jaycees, and a board member of Valley Forge Sewer Authority. Tom was a dedicated member of his community and served as treasurer of the Charlestown Historical Society.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, daughter, Andrea Babacz, daughter, Danielle Babacz, son, Christopher and wife Meg Babacz, 4 grandchildren, Santino, Sophia,

Alana, Grace, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Cynthia Hafner, Nancy McCloskey, Robert Babacz, and William Babacz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 604 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA, on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.

Friends may call at the Chapel on Friday morning from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS), 257 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
