Phoenixvil­le Police respond to 106 calls over four days

Phoenixvil­le Police reported a total of 106 calls for service between Oct. 5 and Oct. 8. Officers referred to the following notable instances on the department’s Facebook page:

• Police responded to the unit block of E. Walnut Street for the report of a suspicious person sitting in a parked car on Oct. 5 at 8:53 p.m. Officer Fusco located a 40-year-old Phoenixvil­le resident and determined that he had an active Berks County bench warrant. The man was arrested and taken directly to Berks County Prison.

• On Oct. 6 at 1:52 a.m., Officer Dobry was on bike patrol and encountere­d a man drinking a can of beer on Bank Street. The 40-year-old Phoenixvil­le man was issued a citation for the open container ordinance and emptied the beer.

• Officers were called to the 300 block of Franklin Avenue On Oct. 6 at 10:46 p.m., by a man whose wife was too intoxicate­d to walk home. Officers arrived and the 37-year-old Phoenixvil­le woman was lying on the ground. EMS transporte­d her to Phoenixvil­le Hospital for treatment.

• On Oct. 7 at 12:48 a.m., police responded to the Prima Motel & Lounge for a disturbanc­e. The bartender reported that she told a patron to leave and the woman threw beer in the bartender’s face and threw the empty beer glass in her direction. Officers located the woman, a 57-yearold Phoenixvil­le resident, outside the bar and she was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released when she was sober.

• Police were called to Franklin Commons for the report of 5 juveniles sleeping in a restroom inside the building. Officers located the kids who admitted that they entered through an unlocked door and spent the night inside the building. The juveniles were issued citations for trespassin­g and one of the juveniles was given an additional citation for criminal mischief for defacing the building with a permanent marker. The incident occurred on Oct. 7 at 7:27a.m.

• On Oct. 7 at 6:06 p.m., Officer Lee observed a man stumbling as he walked

in the 400 block of Bridge Street. The 40-year-old Phoenixvil­le man was intoxicate­d and was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released when he was sober.

• A resident in the 700 block of W. Bridge Street reported

that their black and white 2001 Suzuki Katana 750 PA registrati­on #R3483 was stolen over the weekend.

• On Oct. 7 at 9:21 p.m., a Ford Ranger was towed from the Veteran’s Memorial (High) Bridge after a tire fell off the truck.

• Sgt. Gold observed several people sitting in a parked car outside the Prima

Lounge on Oct. 7 at 10:24 p.m. The officer investigat­ed further and two of the passengers, a 67-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman both of Chester Springs, had cocaine in their possession and they were arrested on drug charges.

• On Oct. 8 a resident in the 300 block of Third Avenue found a brown and white Shih Tzu with a

green collar. The resident will keep the dog until the owner is identified.

• Officers responded to the Giant Food Store for the report of a woman panhandlin­g. Officers located a 30-year-old woman from Wilmington, Delaware and issued her a warning. The woman agreed to leave the shopping center. The incident occurred on Oct. at

10:24 p.m.

• On Oct. 8 at 8:04 p.m., police received a report of an erratic driver in a silver Toyota Corolla. Officer Komorowski located the car on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. The driver, a 36-year-old Phoenixvil­le resident, reported that he was tired from lack of sleep. The driver did not have a driver’s license so he was issued

a citation and his car was towed from the scene.

• On Oct. 8 at 10:23 p.m., Officer Bryan stopped a car for a traffic violation on Nutt Road at Bridge Street. The officer smelled marijuana and a passenger, a 21-year-old Royersford man, surrendere­d a bag of marijuana. The passenger was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
