I just want to say whoever is getting paid to manage the roads in Pottstown and the condition that they’re in they are obviously paying this person entirely too much money. These roads are a disgrace.

To all high school public announcers calling football games, I’ve been to a lot of my grandson’s games and at every one of them others and myself have seen kids and adults with their hats on, texting and kids running around not even looking at the flag or putting their hands over their hearts. The announcers should call these people out and not start the anthem until everyone conforms. Where are our great teachers teaching our kids respect for the flag? 500 Miler

Is there anywhere around here where I could properly dispose of household alkaline batteries size AA, AAA, C and D? People tell me I can throw them in the trash but that doesn’t sound right. Anybody know where I could get rid of these?

I recently contacted Rep. Tom Quigley regarding the Tower Health and Blue Cross negotiations. His concern and interest was greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom for all your help and rapid response on this matter. Will definitely vote for you again.

On Sunday me and my family and friends attended the 14th annual basket raffle at St. Joseph Church in Spring City. It was a great event. There were 144 baskets, a 50/50 raffle, plus sweepstakes prizes, grand prizes to win, even a trip to Las Vegas. Many thanks to all the wonderful sponsors and contributors for being so generous. The ladies also offered lots of delicious goodies, punch and coffee. Great job done by all. Can’t wait until next year. A Happy Parishioner, Family and Friends

JT, you told us a good story but you forgot to give us the name of the woman that got fired from NBC for calling the victims in Las Vegas Trump supporters unless of course it’s fake news at its best. This is what Russia did during the election.

This is for Dr. Edith Behr and her staff at the Pottstown Hospital Outpatient Center. You guys are amazing. Thank you, thank you and thank you. Just wanted to say we love you. Terry and Rich Moore

Mike Pence wasn’t outraged when his running mate demeaned a 19-year-old beauty queen. Mike Pence wasn’t patriotic when his running mate demeaned a Gold Star family. His antics the other day at the football game were fake. Jay Miller The two thieves spent over $200,000 for a political stunt. Now because it caused an uproar they want people to donate to pay it back. These thieves why do they not pay for it out of their own pocket? They have more money than the American taxpayers. They are truly disgusting and true thieves. Fact

This is to all those drivers who are tailgating people who are already doing 70 mph and especially to the white Chevy van that tailgated me through Exeter Township on Tuesday morning. We were already doing 70 so there’s no reason for you to be three feet off my bumper. Seventy in a 55 mph zone is already too fast. So unless you want to eat my bumper get off of it. We were already speeding.

Republican Tim Murphy of Pennsylvania has announced he will retire at the end of his term in lieu of allegations asking his mistress to terminate her pregnancy. This guy hounded women who wanted to terminate their pregnancy all during his career. Just another Republican who just lies about their religious beliefs. Shame, shame, shame. Clark S. Kent

I agree, what happened to Pottstown? It’s going to the dump. There’s no stores, the businesses are all going, there are homeless people walking around, pitbulls coming out of nowhere, litter all over the place. Thursday night the farmer’s market is a good thing but it’s not a lot to offer to the people there. The old farmer’s market was a good place to go but they closed down. This whole town is falling apart. It’s not getting any better.

Pence’s publicity stunt cost taxpayers almost a quarter of a million dollars. He never intended to watch the game. At a time when the White House is being investigated for excessive travel expenses Pence does it again. The intent was to stir up more trouble. Of course his boss had his fingers in it.

I have always thought that pro athletes and people in the entertainment industry were flakes long before Donald Trump ever ran for president. They prove it every day that they’re flakes.

Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee an honest and courageous man looks at Donald Trump and it infuriates him because he sees the emperor without his clothes. Frattbak

Harvey Weinstein, just another Hollyweird weirdo.
