There’s an article in Monday’s Mercury asking people in the Perkiomen Valley School District if they would want I believe 17 acres of land kept for open space or if they would rather sell it to a developer for housing. I think that’s a no-brainer. The last thing Perkiomen Valley needs is more students. The schools are bursting at the seams now and taxes are ridiculous. So keep that land open. It’s the only choice.

Ever since I can remember there have been stories about the casting couch. These girls come to Hollywood and they will do anything to get a part in a movie or play. They went to Harvey Weinstein’s apartment knowing his reputation and they did it anyway. Now that they’re established they’re screaming bloody murder. You know there’s such a saying as “sleeping their way to the top.” I think that applies here. Nancy

I’m cleaning out my basement and I found a lot of old paint cans, some have paint and some don’t, and I’m not sure how I can dispose of them. If someone would please call in and let me know I’d appreciate it. Can I just put them in a bag and put them out for the trash? I don’t know.

Dear humans, it is honorable that you respect your flag so highly but it is dishonorable and most displeasing to me that you show more respect to a colored piece of fabric then you do to your fellow man and ignoring the struggles many thereof endured. Raise the flag for your country’s honor and respect it if you must but hang your heads in shame for the disrespect and dishonor you show to your fellow man. God

I’m glad the Federal Reserve is optimistic about the economy and I hope it stays that way and that Wall Street does not pull the rug out from under all of us. Keep praying.

To the people who are complaining about cars and trucks parked where you feel they shouldn’t be, have you tried going to borough hall and complaining rather than in Sound Off or have you gone to borough hall and you get no results and that’s why you called in? Just checking to see what route you’re taking. Just Curious

I am not a deeply religious person but with all these weather disasters, fires, mass killings and hatred in this world, I think God is really trying to tell us something. N

Take a look at what China is doing to combat climate change from tree cities to solar to wind. Simply awesome.

I see by Tea Party in Monday’s Mercury he mentioned that the Nazis killed about 14 million and we’ve had 57 million babies killed by abortion since 1973. The actual account is 77 million abortions since 1973. Because of Hitler, Stalin and the Japanese we had over 100 million people killed before World War II and after. It’s pretty horrendous. We actually had more people killed in civilian positions than we had in the military. Think about this all.

Thanks to Donald, FEMA only has a fraction of the capability it has had since its conception. Trump has cut FEMA personnel and he has cut funding to FEMA by 50 percent but refuses to take the blame for the failures of FEMA.

I pass the Manatawny Manor nursing home every day and awhile back they did the whole outside of the building over and it looks beautiful. But one thing I wanted to know is why don’t they fix the stone wall next to the street between the street and their property? It’s falling down. The stones are there but it all flopped over. It doesn’t look nice but the building they did is beautiful.

Donald Trump said the last few presidents never called the families of fallen soldiers who gave their life. That’s another lie that he’s told. President Obama used to meet with the Gold Star families of the fallen. Donald Trump doesn’t even know how to speak to Gold Star families. He doesn’t know anything about it.

I would like to know why people feel they are entitled to a plastic bag when they make photo copies in a store. If you want to carry your photo copies out in a bag then bring a bag with you. Don’t expect the store to provide you with a bag. It costs the store a lot of money for those bags and you’re not making a purchase. Even though you’re paying for the photo copies you’re not actually making a purchase and you are not entitled to a plastic bag.

I laughed as I watched our dog Rufus chasing his tail and thought how easily animals are amused and then I realized I was laughing at the dog chasing his tail.
