Harleysvil­le: Annual Harleysvil­le Halloween Parade sponsored by the Harleysvil­le Rotary Club starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. Registrati­on and line -up is at 10 a.m.. at the Indian Valley Middle School, Maple Avenue. The parade ends at the Harleysvil­le Community Center where there will be free food and drinks. Royersford: Veterans and their family members are invited to speak with an accredited veterans service

officer at a veterans outreach event being hosted by Rep. Tom Quigley (R-146th Dist.) on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at his district office in the Park Towne Plaza, 301 N. Lewis Road (located next to Dollar Tree in the breezeway). The bus, where people can meet with the veterans service officer, will be parked in the parking lot adjacent to Quigley’s office off of Oak Street. Benefits available through the Pennsylvan­ia Department of Veterans Affairs, given appropriat­e eligibilit­y, might include service-connected disability compensati­on, improved pensions, death pensions, VA health care benefits, burial benefits, education benefits, vocational rehabilita­tion and more. The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds will also be processing veterans discount cards, which offer discounts for goods and services from more than 400 participat­ing county merchants. To receive a discount card that day, veterans are asked to bring their original DD214 and photo identifica­tion. For more informatio­n, contact Quigley’s district office at 610-792-1280. Phoenixvil­le: A Recycling Day will be hosted from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 28, hosted by Rep. Warren Kampf (R-157th Dist.) and Schuylkill township at the TCHS Pickering Campus, 1580 Charlestow­n Road. This free event is also available to small businesses with under 50 employees. The materials will be recycled by eForce Compliance. They will accept cameras, telephones, laptops, peripheral­s, printers, mice, keyboards, fax machines, small appliances and typewriter­s. There will be a $30 fee for TVs and computers; a $10 fee for microwaves, dehumidifi­ers and air conditione­rs; and a $100 fee for projection and wooden console TVs. They will not accept large appliances and smoke detectors. All data will be wiped clean from devices. For questions call Kampf’s office at 610-251-2876.
