TruMark opens Downingtown branch
Credit union says new design is more customer friendly
UWCHLAN » Another credit union is expanding its presence in Chester County.
TruMark Financial Credit Union, based in Fort Washington, Montgomery County, on Friday opened its new branch in the 300 block of West Uwchlan Avenue in Uwchlan, just outside of Downingtown.
The credit union now has more than 20 locations, including ones in West Goshen and Tredyffrin in Chester County.
It celebrated the new building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where State Rep. Harry Lewis expressed his appreciation for the design of the new building.
Also in attendance were TruMark Financial’s board and supervisory committee members; Richard Stipa, CEO; and executive management staff.
TruMark said the credit union branch has a new look, with teller pods providing a more welcoming atmosphere, removing the barriers of traditional high counters and allowing for a more personal service experience.
“The branch may have a new appearance but members can expect the same high level personalized service they receive in every branch,” said TruMark Financial Chief Executive Officer Richard F. Stipa.
Founded in 1939, TruMark Financial has about $2 billion in assets and has branches throughout the five-county Philadelphia region.
TruMark last year entered Chester County with its acquisition of Keystone Federal Credit Union.
TruMark said at the time Keystone members approved the merger because
of the expanded branch network and a wider menu of products and services it could offer. Founded in 1939, Keystone served Chester County educators and employees of more than 200 select businesses.
The latest opening marks yet another expansion among credit unions in the region over the past year.
In September, Franklin
Mint Federal Credit Union opened its new branch in West Chester, and in August it opened new headquarters in Chadds Ford. The credit union said it sees growth potential in Chester County and the state of Delaware as well as its home base of Delaware County.
In March, Ardent Credit Union, headquartered in Philadelphia, celebrated the opening of its fifth branch, located in Oaks, Montgomery County.
Ardent, which serves the Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks and Chester counties, said it has a significant number of members along the burgeoning Route 422 corridor. Ardent said it plans to open one new branch each year for the next several years.
Last October, Benchmark Federal Credit opened new branches in West Chester and Phoenixville.
