Pottstown PAL earns playoff spot with win over Boyertown
Pottstown PAL’s sixthgrade football team earned a spot in the playoffs after defeating Boyertown 19-13 last Saturday afternoon.
The game started with a Dillon Mayes touchdown after a 69-yard Jeremy Smith kickoff return. Following a Bears touchdown, Pottstown went up 12-7 via two Smith carries.
Boyertown took a 1312 lead entering the half before Pottstown scored the game’s final score after a fumble recovery from Nahzier Booker and a touchdown run a few plays after.
Pottstown (4-2), had five players selected as AllStars: Nicholas Yeager, Tyler Santiago, Dillon Mayes, DiMark Lyons Jr., and Jeremy Smith.
Gymnastics
Silvia’s Gymnastics Level 7 & Level 8 competed in the Back to School meet, hosted by Prestige Gymnastics in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on October 14, 2017. LEVEL 7 INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
Age 7-10: Shyla Bhatia placed first on bars, third AA, fourth on beam, and tied for fifth on vault and floor. Age 11: Ava Nagata tied for sixth place on vault. Age 12: Taylor Arias placed third on vault, bars, and AA; Nadia Van Horn placed second on floor, fifth AA, sixth on bars, and tied for sixth on vault; Sarah Golie placed fourth on beam and floor and tied for sixth on vault; Julia Reid placed sixth on beam; Jaiden Hoek placed fifth on floor; Allison McCafferty placed fifth on beam. LEVEL 8 INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
Age 8-12: Lily Smith placed first on vault, bars, beam, floor, and AA; Delaney Linton placed fourth on bars, floor and AA, fifth on vault and beam; Adisson Ferri placed third on vault; Brooke Ahart placed fourth on beam.
Age 13: Madelyn Gerhart placed first on beam, second on bars and AA, and tied for fifth on vault; Nicole Deleon placed fifth on bars and AA; Natalie Gerhart placed third on vault, fourth on floor, and fifth on beam; Elizabeth Seely placed third on floor and tied for fifth on vault. Age 14: Blake Pascal placed second on bars, floor and AA, fifth on beam, and sixth on vault; Gabrielle Filzen placed second on beam, fourth on vault, fifth AA, and sixth on bars and floor.
Silvia’s level 8 team placed second.
