Distinguished alumni recognized by district
Four Pottsgrove graduates were recently added to the Pottsgrove School District Honor Roll.
Four members of the Pottsgrove community were recently inducted into the Pottsgrove School District Honor Roll during the 17th annual luncheon at Copperfield’s in Limerick. This event is sponsored by the Pottsgrove Retired Teachers and the Pottsgrove Education Foundation.
The Honor Roll recognizes members of the community who have provided distinguished service to the school district or who have made notable contributions to society since graduating from Pottsgrove.
This year’s honorees were Dr. Richard Radel, Dr. Theresa L. Burns, the late Jill Wrigley, and Barbara S. Cooper.
Dr. Richard Radel was a teacher and principal at Pottsgrove for a career spanning four decades.
Dr. Theresa Burns, a 1978 graduate, is a doctor of chiropractic medicine in the Pottstown area.
Jill Wrigley, a 1982 graduate, dedicated her life to helping all of God’s children.
Barbara Cooper, a 1976 graduate, has committed herself to helping the less fortunate with a free meals program at her church.
Master of Ceremonies for the luncheon was James Basile. Honorees were introduced by John Meko, Kathy Baker, Laura Wrigley, and Linda Cole. Addison Davidson offered the invocation.
Serving on the Honor Roll Committee are James Basile, Charles Yohn, Earl Boehmer, Linda Cole, Meko, D.J.Testa, ArlanBurkert, Addison Davidson, Barbara Clayton, Bernard Conley, Tom Roberts and Robert Rheel.
