Area congregations schedule special services and events
Holy Trinity
Pottstown: The Annual Fall Bazaar will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1236 Juniper St. Customers can purchase pierogi, both potato or sauerkraut; holupki (stuffed cabbage); and halushki (buttered noodles); and nut rolls, all made from authentic Slavic recipes. Homemade soups and baked goods also will be available. Eat in or take out. The bazaar will feature gift basket raffles and a flea market.
Bally Mennonite
Bally: A Hurricane Relief Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. today in the Church Fellowship hall at Bally Mennonite Church, Route 100, hosted by both Bally Mennonite Church and Butter Valley Community Church. Breakfast includes pancakes, French toast, sausage, scrapple, OJ, tea and coffee. Donations of all amounts are appreciated. Proceeds will provide funds for the long term relief efforts of the Mennonite Disaster Service. St. Paul’s UMC Birdsboro: A Holiday Bazaar will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1136 Geigertown Road. There will be crafts, baked goods, homemade soup and much more.
Bethel UMC
Spring City: Bethel Christian Preschool Road Rally will be held from 10 a.m. to noon today at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road, in the parking lot. There is a $10 fee. All are welcome.
St. John’s Hill UCC Boyertown: The Annual Turkey Dinner will be held from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today (tickets sold until 7 p.m.) at St. John’s Hill United Church of Christ, 620 Hill Church Road, in the picnic grove dining hall. Cost is Adults $12 and children 3 to 10 years are $6.50. Takeout orders are $1 extra.
First Presbyterian
Pottstown: All Saints’ Sunday will be celebrated during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church. There will be a remembrance of all those who have died in the faith. The annual Stewardship Dinner “Live Generously” will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Christ Lutheran
Barto: All Saints’ Sunday will be celebrated during the 7:45 and 10:15 a.m. worship services at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. During both services, the “saints” who have gone before us during the past year will be remembered and the memorial gifts will be dedicated that were purchased in honor of those saints. Immediately following the 10:15 a.m. worship service, a Coffee Hour hosted by Church Council will be held in the parlor in honor of the retirement of sexton, Bob Reismiller.
Centennial Lutheran
Kimberton: In observance of All Saints Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. worship service at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road, an opportunity will be provided for people to light a candle in memory of a loved one who has died.
St. Luke’s Lutheran
Obelisk: All Saints’ Sunday will be observed at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. Members who have died since All Saint’s Sunday of 2016 will be remembered. They are Doris Hunsberger, Franklin Kratz, Logan Mertz, Naomi Rose and Charles Steinle.
Calvary UCC
Barto: All Saints’ Day will be observed during the 10:15 a.m. service of worship at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100. There will be an opportunity to light candles in remembrance of loved ones and the names of the Saints of the church who passed away during the past year will be individually remembered. A Potluck Lunch will be held after worship in the Fellowship hall. All are welcome. If able please bring a dish to share. To rent a table for the annual Holiday Bazaar and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 18, please contact Eileen Haring at 610-754-6046. Donations for the church flea market stand on Nov. 15 to 17 will be accepted at the bottom doors.
St. James Lutheran
Limerick: All Saints’ Day will be celebrated at Sunday services at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, with remembrances of those who have passed in the last year. SOUL for Women will hold a “Game Night” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. All women are invited to attend.
St. Luke Lutheran
Gilbertsville: All Saints Day will be observed on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. During the service, the names of those who passed away during the past year will be read. The Installation of Pastor Mary Ann Siefke will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Numerous pastors from the area will participate. The Senior Choir and Cherub Choir will sing and the Handbell Choir will ring. A reception will follow the service. The Community Clothing Rack will be open for distribution from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Shepherd of the Hills
Bechtelsville: Food will be collected for the Salvation Army Thanksgiving boxes from Nov. 5 to 15 at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansville Road. The church is a polling site for the elections on Tuesday.
Unitarian Fellowship
Pottstown: The 50th Anniversary of The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1565 S. Keim St., will be celebrated with a special service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. There will be special music and visiting ministers. The service will be led by Rev. Paul Daniels, the current minister. There will also be a brief talk on the history of the Fellowship given by Peggy Jones, widow of Bob Jones. The Fellowship was founded in 1967 by Bob Jones, Alex Downie, and Charles Leyrer. On September 17, 1967 a small group of people led by them applied to the Unitarian Universalist Association. On November 10, 1967 the charter was granted, and they officially became a Fellowship.
St. John’s UCC
Pottstown: Members of St. John’s United Church of Christ will be supporting the Cluster in collecting boxes of stuffing for the upcoming holiday season. The Mission Committee will start a new initiative beginning in November to fill Hygiene Kits for Church World Service. The Social Committee will host a card-making gathering on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
St. Paul’s UCC
Pottstown: An All-YouCan-Eat Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St. Tickets are $6for adults; $3.50 for kids ages 6 to 12, and kids age 5 and under are free.
Brownback’s UCC
Spring City: The Sunday of All Saints will be celebrated during the 10 a.m. worship service at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road, remembering all those who have passed in the last year. Remain after the Service for Social Hour in Fellowship Hall.
St. Peter’s Lutheran
Pottstown: All Saints Sunday will be celebrated at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. worship services at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., remembering the faithful departed during the past year. The Stewardship Program continues for week three with the program theme “Live Generously - Take hold of the Life that Really is Life” with a Temple Talk by Cindy Clouser at both services. All are welcome to the Spoken Holy Communion worship service at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
Mount Carmel UMC
St. Peters: Volunteers from Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyville Road, will meet in St. Peters today for the “Good Works Program,” an organization that helps those in need of home repair. For more information call the church at 610-4599151. The Annual Bazaar will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. today. There will be attic treasures, bake table, books, Christmas crafts, local crafters and lunch. Refreshments will be available after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday. Everyone is welcome.
Zion’s UCC
Pottstown: All Saints/ Memorial Sunday will be commemorated at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, remembering those members who have passed since Nov. 1, 2016. Women’s Fellowship will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Speaker is Vicki Kriczky a representative of Frederick Living. Hostess is Eileen McCormick. Reminder that meetings will now be every other month. Beginning Sunday a nursery for preschool age will be offered the first Sunday of the month, communion Sunday. Members should mark their calendars for the Annual Congregational Meeting after the Sunday worship on Nov. 12. A lunch of soup and salad will be served.

Pottstown: A “Free” Thanksgiving Dinner will be served from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St., in partnership with Congregation Mercy and Truth and Pottstown Friends Meeting. Transportation is available by calling 610-326-1700.
