God is trying to get your attention in today’s world

- — Pastor Ken Kirk Pottstown

Today people of all ages are asking the same question, what is going on in our world? There have been super storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and rumors of wars. People of different cultures are disjointed in some form. Our freedom of speech is being restricted, there is constant rioting, and people will not come under any authority from politics, work places, learning institutions and even those within homes.

We tend to blame everyone from political platforms to media coverage to the have and have-nots as to the color of our skin to climate change.

There is one place we all need to visit in order to find the answer. The oldest living testimonial book ever written: The Bible. Technically all the world’s populations are all brothers and sisters. Our modern-day scientists have stated that everyone on earth has the same marker in their DNA. They claim this is only possible if we all came from one set of parents: Adam and Eve. The world’s population is one large family disconnect, therefore, God is trying to get our attention.

We are told God’s word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and that He never changes. The books of the Old Testament are a testimony of how God dealt with people and their rebellion. A quick look and you will find that God used the Earth’s elements to get the people’s attention. A few examples: the Red Sea was held back to allow Moses and his people to flee from Egypt, then the water serge drowned the chariots, horses and men. This is concurrent with modern day tsunamis. During Noah’s time, God was displeased with mankind for the disobedience to His Word. Therefore, God allowed water from below and above to flood the Earth completely. This killed all mankind and animal life. This is concurrent with modern day floods. Another example is when God gave His people victory over the enemy under the condition that they would not take any plunder for themselves, However, a few did and hid it in their tents. God caused the earth to open up to swallow all men, women, children, and all they had. A whole tribe of people disappeared from the Earth (sink holes). God allowed fire from Heaven to rain down on Sodom and Gomorrah because of their lifestyle (asteroids). God made the sun and moon stand still so that a war could be won. God held back rain from His people because of disobedience to His word (droughts). Did God hate all of these people? No! He loved them, but requires obedience to His word.

Let us examine society today: abortion is normal and protected by our laws, same-sex marriages are celebrated, living together before marriage is normal and traditional marriages are seen as old fashion. Many are not accepted for the color of their skin. People are not inclined to come under any type of authority from parents, teachers or protective forces. Many feel they are privileged and above the law. The government cannot keep their word. All of the above is despicable to God. Look at Mexico, the world’s supply of drugs and sending thousands of their children to us. There have been volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, earthquakes and storms like never before. God has always forewarned the people in the Old Testament and we are now living in the New Testament time. God uses pastors, teachers and evangelists to warn the people; however, most denominations want a social gospel instead. Their aim is to please the people and withhold the truth.

God is trying to get our attention by allowing these disturbances to affect us where it hurts. As the financial cost is tallied to replace the carnage, it will bankrupt our nation.

Has God gotten your attention?
