Amazing Race raised $100,000 for local agencies

TriCounty’s Amazing Raise occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The Amazing Raise is a one-day fundraising campaign that allows participating nonprofit organizations around the TriCounty area to raise money while getting additional corporate and foundationsponsored money for their efforts in proportion to what the participating nonprofits raise. Our inaugural Amazing Raise generated over $100,000 in checks and online donations that will directly support over 25 nonprofit organizations that provide direct services in the Pottstown community.

Organizations that participated in The Amazing Raise include Operation Backpack, Boyertown Area Wellness Council, the Foundation for Pottstown Education, GoFourth! and many others.

The Amazing Raise’s efforts occurred through the hard work of the Pottstown nonprofit community, residents of the area, TriCounty Community Network (TCN), and our generous partnership with the Pottstown Health and Wellness Foundation and other business partners. Imagine how much money could have been raised and how many lives could be changed if only more people knew about the great things our community partners fund each day.

The 2018 Amazing Raise is scheduled to occur in mid-October. It’s my hope that The Mercury will cover this and shine a spotlight on events and initiatives that provide a positive impact in our community in order to help us help more people in and around Pottstown. By doing this, we can continue to help steer our community in a positive direction.
