I see where the Democrats are all happy that they won an election in two Democratic states, Virginia and New Jersey. I also hope they really enjoy when the state of New Jersey is going to become a sanctuary state. Maybe they could get Philadelphia to come over to New Jersey and be part of Jersey with being a sanctuary city.

This is to the people who want gun control. Be careful what you wish for because the only people that are going to have guns are the criminals. We American citizens who abide by the law will not be able to protect ourselves.

We must raise taxes so we can continue giving away to the non-productive members of society.

We see in Thursday’s Mercury that the voters of the commonwealth approved the amendment to the State Constitution with the hope that they will finally get property tax elimination for the schools. I voted for it but the amendment is flawed. I’m not holding my breath. I don’t believe the legislature has the decency let alone the courage to do the job that needs to be done.

Still Not Deceived In Pottstown

Mr. Trump points out in defense of sale of assault weapons to private citizens the fact that it was a citizen with a rifle who stopped the recent church murderer. Contrary to the NRA no one wants to ban the sale of reasonable guns to law abiding citizens. A rifle is not an assault weapon. When will Congress listen to the 90 percent of American citizens who want wiser gun laws instead of the NRA? How many more of our neighbors must needlessly die?

Hey Boyertown you had a great Halloween parade as usual. Very entertaining and a special thanks to Scott Schaeffer for his firebreathing hearse. It’s always a great show. Thanks again.

Well the election results are in and it’s amazing when you see just how many and what the percentages are of voters. It’s so minimal. And then you look at those who were voted back into office. There were a few voted out but here we go again. There’s not going to be any changes.

Hey Truth Be Told, you better hope there are no more rabbit holes for Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller to run down. The next hole just may have the proof to show that President Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election.

Saw on The Mercury website where the council could either cut its personnel or raise taxes 18 percent. We have such a budget gap yet we have the Phillies Fire Company out placing lights along the street. Isn’t that what the township pays employees to do, not the fire company? That’s what our taxes are going to. Lights up and down High Street strung by a fire company. Great job Pottstown.

Congratulations to the Collegeville Democrats and newly elected Mayor “Ace” Wright-Riggins for sweeping four council seats in Collegeville. Despite a race-baiting propaganda letter and numerous stolen campaign signs for the Democrats, the Democrats ran a progressive and positive campaign. Welcome to the 21st Century Collegeville.

President Trump, you made a big deal out of sports players kneeling. Why don’t you make a big deal how they play for a few months making $48 million a year or $476 million for a six-year contract while hard working people make very little to survive on? How fair is that?

I was reading Friday’s Sound Off and this is in reply to the person asking for a Trump-free week in Sound off I’m assuming, and basically saying that everybody lies. I’m all for a Trump-free week if the president of the United States will stay off of Twitter and social media which causes a lot of us to question what he has to say.

Did you know that there’s a clause in the new tax plan that gives a break to golf course owners? Deplorable.

To the one who wants to save Daylight Saving Time, at 8 p.m. most people are watching television regardless how dark or light it is. Having to change your clocks and watches is ridiculous. How many people are late for work because they forgot to change their time?

How degrading to all who have served for and yes died for our country. The Pottstown School District honors Martin Luther King by closing on his birthday but disrespects our vets by being open Veterans Day. Ironically federal and state offices along with many businesses respect our veterans and close, but not Pottstown School District.
