Assaults most reported crime in town last week

Five assaults were reported in Pottstown in the past week, according to an online crimemappi­ng website.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a police-run website used to inform the public about crime in their area, five assaults were reported in Pottstown since Nov. 7.

Three non-aggravated assaults were reported on the 200 block of East High Street, the 700 block of North Washington Street and the 300 block of Chestnut Street. One assault involving the use of hands, feet and fists was reported on East Second Street and an assault with a dangerous weapon occurred on the 100 block of South Franklin Street.

Substance violations and incidents of disturbing the peace were each reported three times. Public drunkennes­s was reported twice on the 900 block of East High Street and East Second Street along with one case of drug possession on the 1500 block of East High Street. Disorderly conduct was reported twice on the 900 block of North Charlotte Street and North Hanover Street while harassment was reported on North Washington Street.

Theft and robbery were both reported twice over the past week. Robberies were reported on West King Street and the 1000 block of East High Street while a retail theft was reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road and a theft from buildings occurred on the 700 block of North Charlotte Street.

Fraud, DUI, vehicle theft, vandalism and burglary were all reported once since Nov. 7. A DUI was reported on the 300 block of King Street while fraud was reported on the 100 block of East High Street. A vehicle theft occurred on the 200 block of North York Street along with criminal mischief to vehicles on the 1000 block of North Charlotte Street. A burglary involving forced entry was reported on South Charlotte Street.
