So Pottstown Borough Council decided to raise taxes only 18.6 percent. So I’m on my way to work right now and I’m going to march right in and ask my boss for an 18.6 percent raise. Wonder how that will work out.
The people have spoken and the word was “no” to AstroTurf for Perkiomen Valley High School. What in heavens was the board even thinking? AstroTurf for a high school, really? It is hard on the knees, causes injuries and I can’t believe they would even consider that. I thank all the other voters for voting no.
My wife came home the other day from the grocery store with two large frozen Mrs. Smith pies. I couldn’t help but think to myself boy oh boy they used to be made right here in Pottstown along with Firestone tires, Bethlehem Steel, parts for bridges and huge projects in the country. Is it any wonder that we were on top of the world back then? Now we can barely keep the lights on in the town. What a shame.
Montgomery County, Maryland, officials voted unanimously to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour. Despite their own projections it would cost 47,000 jobs and $396 million in income by 2022. By resetting the wage negotiating f loor for unions, the most disadvantaged will be denied that critical first job and the dignity of employment. Mark Furlong
While approaching a crest of a hill on a local road I observed an oncoming vehicle with its wheels on the center line and the driver with both hands on the top of the wheel just texting away. This is a blind spot in the road. Texting has to be an addiction if you risk crossing the center line and hitting another vehicle head on. Anti-Texter
JT, if you watched Fox News they even reported that the uranium deal in 2010 was approved by nine different department heads. They don’t even know if Hillary Clinton even knew about the deal according to Fox News. There is no investigation yet. So the worm as you say has not turned. However aren’t you counting your chickens before they hatch? Clark S. Kent
To Frattbak, I do listen to Trump, do you? He just released three shoplifters from China. Did you give him credit for that? And oh, I do believe they were black. Beverly
This president has to be the first president in our history to go abroad and degrade the country he represents. Now that he has shown the world how weak our country is under his administration where do you think we stand now? The United States was always considered a leader. Now we are considered losers. Facts Matter
The fifth accuser has come forward to say she was sexually assaulted by Roy Moore. Sadly this won’t stop him from being elected senator from Alabama. A normal Democrat or Republican candidate confronted with these allegations would hopefully drop out immediately. Moore calls this a conspiracy and refuses to leave. The hypocritical evangelical conservatives of the Republican Party should be ashamed. Welcome to the truth. Lefty Jay Miller, KM, Hawaiian Punch Party North Coventry Yankee, I totally agree with JT. And about the so-called new fake news of Fox News making it a practice of being on the wrong side that is an insane thought on your part. For far too long Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh and Levin have been telling us the truth but guess what? You can’t handle the truth much less accept the truth.
An 18.6 percent raise in taxes in Pottstown, are you kidding me? Are you nuts? Oh my God. It is not April Fools Day.
To Agnostic about what happened in Texas, there is evil in this world. We don’t know the answers to why some things happen. Just as God gave and wants good for everyone the devil wants to destroy everything that is good. That is what is happening to our country with the division and hatred. It isn’t from God. Lady Di
To the person who shot the cat on Second Street, some people don’t like cats. Then spray them with water if they come around. Don’t be cruel. TT
When Donald Trump was running for president he said within 30 days he would get rid of ISIS with a secret plan. Where is it? When is it going to start?
