John Diachynsky, 87, of Gilbertsville

John Diachynsky, 87, of Gilbertsville, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care Center, Boyertown, with his loving wife by his side. Born September 10, 1930 in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Magdaline (Masluk) Diachynsky. He was the husband of Johanna (Meisel) Diachynsky, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Totally dedicated to his family, John enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He faithfully served our nation in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, including service in the Korean War. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 471, Gilbertsville.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, John worked as a Supervisor at Great American Knitting Mills in Bally for over 15 years, and was a pipefitter/plumber for T.C. Wills Company, Inc., retiring in 1997.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son John N. Diachynsky, Gilbertsville, his sisters Stella Landis and Helen Levengood, both of Gilbertsville, and his brothers Joseph, of Boyertown and Nicholas of Gilbertsville.
Services are private at the convenience of John’s family.
