Boyertown falls to Parkdale, 41-31

The defending PIAA Class 6A champion Boyertown girls basketball team began the season with a 41-31 loss against Parkdale (MD) Friday night in the She Got Game Tournament in Washington, D.C.

Leading 22-21 after three, the Panthers utilized a decisive 1910 advantage during the fourth quarter to put it away. Drew Calhoun scored a game-high 21 points with three 3-pointers while Ragan Johnson followed with 11 points in the win.

Leclaire hit for a gamehigh 18 points to help Roberts bolt to a 39-20 firsthalf lead. Diana Rantz and Hannah Clay chipped in with a respective 16 and 12 points for the ‘Cats. With the win, OJR will play Northampto­n, an 80-41 winner over Harry S. Truman, in the championsh­ip game at 6 p.m. SPRING-FORD 46, N. KANSAS CITY 40 » The Rams opened play in the She Got Game Tournament by topping their Missouri opponent.

Abby Goodrich led Spring-Ford with 14 points, one more than teammate Rachel Christman’s 13. They were key to the Rams taking a 26-24 halftime lead. POTTSTOWN 44, LANCASTER MENNONITE 34 » Ebony Reddick was the runaway scoring leader for the Trojans as they handled Lancaster Mennonite in the opening round of the Twin Valley Tournament.

Riley Simon led the way for the locals with 17 points, going 12-for-15 from the foul line. Emma Yaccarino chipped in with another 10 off 6-for-6 freethrow shooting as the Falcons padded their 27-19 halftime lead with a 4420 second half.
