I just received my 2018 Social Security form. It seems I’m going to be getting a 2 percent raise but low and behold they’re raising Medicare 25-plus percent which means I’ll have less in 2018 than I’ve been getting in 2017. Just don’t understand it. Can’t Win For Losing

This is in regards to the new roof they’re advertising about on the Pottsgrove Middle School. Twenty years? My roof is more than 20 years old. When they built it didn’t they hear of 30-year roofs? I doubt if it’s that bad. Another time they’re wasting the taxpayers’ money. Beverly

What have they done to the lead pencils? I sharpen them and sharpen them and they just keep breaking and breaking. Then I’ll get one, it’ll have a nice point and I’ll go to write and then the point will just fall right out. What did they do to them and where can I get a decent lead pencil?

I see some people have their leaves all blown out of the yard and they put them along the curb in the street. There’s no magic machine that’s going to come and take those leaves away. What you need to do is go get yourself some bags down at borough hall and you start putting those leaves in those bags.

I just want to say thank you, God bless you and Merry Christmas to the nice young woman who took the groceries out of the cart and put them in my car at Walmart. I can’t think her enough being a senior citizen and disabled. It was greatly appreciated. Again God bless her.

It is sinful that a convicted state lawmaker will get his pension restored. He gets $20,000 a month, $240,000 a year, and we have homeless veterans. We are sheep being led to the slaughter and we all do nothing about it.

This goes out to all my older friends in Pottstown. Remember what Christmas was like in Pottstown many years ago? People shopping in all the stores, Santa Claus was up on the second floor in the New York Store, the decorations beautiful all through the town, compared to what we have today — drifters walking around, the stores closed up for blocks and blocks. Boy what a shame but just keep it in your heart and remember those good old days. Remember

Why is it when Michelle Obama was the first lady every day you heard about how beautiful her clothes were and how she looked and with Melania Trump you don’t hear anyone say anything about her dress or what she is wearing. Why not? She is a beautiful lady and dresses very well.

I don’t know when you Eagle fans are going to get it through your heads that every time your team gets good you brag including the host of the sports talk shows on the radio that the Eagles are going to go to the Super Bowl, they’re going to win it and this and that but you never figure what could happen and now what did happen, the quarterback Carson Wentz has torn his ACL. I agree with you Lady Di. Thank God for Donald Trump. Look what he’s done for the workforce. I don’t think there’s a single unemployed comedian these days.

It’s just wishful thinking that support for Donald Trump is wavering. The more you anti-Trump people call in with your repetitious and negative remarks the stronger the support gets. I think it’s funny that you believe or say you do that his supporters are uneducated. You must get those stats from CNN — fake news.
