Before helicopter parenting, social media and political correctness drove kids to “safe spaces,” children were allowed to test their limits and better prepare for adulthood. For a perspective on how child rearing has changed, “The Overprotected Kid,” published in The Atlantic is a worthwhile read.

East Coventry police and residents along Old Schuylkill Road be on the lookout for deer poachers after dark that will sneak on your land and poach deer practically in your backyard. They hunt behind the new town homes starting by the cemetery at night and in the woods with homes all around them. These aren’t real hunters and are law breakers and should have their guns and license taken away permanently. I’ll be watching you. Hopefully others will too.

In regards to the traffic problem around the Pottstown area and other counties I really think that we should bring back the rail system. That would really help a lot.

The tax bill that the Republicans want to push through is totally disgraceful for the average working person. It’s truly a shame and nothing but for the rich to let the rich get richer. It’s disgraceful.

Lady Di, where is the border wall that’s supposed to be paid for by Mexico?

This is to all my friends out there. Go to opensecrets.org. You’ll be amazed.

Shame on all the women who voted for Trump. More allegations of sexual misconduct by young ladies. What if it would’ve been your sister or your daughter that he would have touched? Would you think differently then? I have a young niece, I could not imagine. Yuck.

One of the morning hosts on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” called President Trump a pig. If somebody on Fox News would’ve called President Obama a pig the Democratic Party and House and Senate along with the first lunch lady Michelle Obama would have been demanding that that person be fired.

The tax bill the Republicans are trying to pass will surely devastate lower and middle class citizens in the future. That will include most Trump voters but they will continue to support him anyway. No one votes against themselves like Republicans. Voting to repeal health care and give tax cuts to the rich is the Republican way. Welcome to the same old thing.

We are on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea. Iran is supplying Yemen with sophisticated weapons. Robert Mueller is slowly closing in on who knew what. Fox News is talking about Hillary Clinton’s emails. Hilarious.

This is to the white Jeep Cherokee, the older model, on Ben Franklin Highway on Friday morning at 6:30. If you need to ride up on people’s bumpers and drive so fast and then you have to pass people on the shoulder which is completely illegal and irresponsible, maybe you need to leave for work or wherever you’re going earlier. Don’t take other people’s lives in your hands but hey maybe that’s just the mentality of Jeep drivers.

I think that whoever is supposed to go around and check to see if people keep their walks clean ought to do their job because I fell on Thursday and I think the walk should be cleaned.

Attention East Pikeland police, my next door neighbor on Pikeland Avenue has had two cats run over by cars flying up Pikeland Avenue between 7 and 8 in the morning. Please set in my driveway at 727 Pikeland Avenue any morning and get these cars flying up the road and killing the animals.

I have an idea for the end-of-the-year party for everyone who calls into Sound Off. We should all get together. Everyone has name tags. There will be awards given to the best comments, worst comments and the person who called in the most. I would suggest extra security. Happy New Year.
