Retail theft
NORTH COVENTRY » On Dec. 16, North Coventry Police responded to the Boscov’s Department Store at the Coventry Mall for a male juvenile in custody for retail theft. According to Boscov’s Loss Prevention, they observed the juvenile select a coat and conceal it on his person. The juvenile then left the store without paying for the coat. Loss Prevention recovered the stolen merchandise. The value of the coat was $225.00. The juvenile was later released to his parent after being processed, police said. The police filed charges against the juvenile for retail theft, receiving stolen property, and false identification to law enforcement.

NORTH COVENTRY » On Dec. 12 North Coventry Police responded to the Boscov’s Department
Store on the report of two male juveniles in custody for retail theft. The juveniles were 14 and 15 years old. Boscov’s Loss Prevention observed the pair in the store and each of them selected a speaker valued at $39.99. The juveniles concealed the speakers in their bags and exited the store without paying for the items, police said. Loss Prevention stopped the juveniles outside of the store and escorted them back to the office. Loss Prevention recovered the stolen speakers. The police contacted the parents/guardians of the juveniles. The juveniles were cited for retail theft and released to their parents/guardians.
Vehicle crash
NORTH COVENTRY » On Dec. 15 at about 4:36 p.m., North Coventry Police responded to the area of Neiman Road and Roberta Drive for a one vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the police spoke with the operator, Erik Hall. Hall advised that he was traveling north on Neiman Road when he lost control of his vehicle, a 2017 Mazda 6, on the snow covered road, police said. The vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and struck a utility pole with the front end. After striking the utility pole, the vehicle spun clockwise and hit a fire hydrant with the rear left corner. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Douglassville Auto Body.
Burglary report
WARWICK » State Police are investigating after it was reported that a burglary occurred between Dec. 15 and Dec. 16 at 2580 St. Peter’s Road. Police said the victim’s residence had been unlawfully entered and that sever items were missing from inside.
