Ellen (Bonner) Frederick, 90, of Pottstown

Ellen (Bonner) Frederick, 90, of Pottstown, widow of Victor M. Frederick, Jr., passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. Bonner and the late Clara May (Rogers) Bonner.

Ellen was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia.

She was an administrative assistant to the vice president of marketing at the former Boyertown Casket Co. She also assisted her late husband, Victor, in his electrical business from 1979-1985, and worked for Sager & Sager Associates, Pottstown.

Ellen was a member of the Women’s Club of Pottstown, and volunteered at PMMC starting in 1998.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane L. Bowling, Wilmington, DE, and Catharine A. Fichtner, Pittsburgh; five stepchildren, Victor M. Frederick III, Pottstown, Louise, wife of Samuel Koury, Pottstown, Mary, wife of Bruce Herpich, King of Prussia, Kathleen, wife of Robert Fisher, Pottstown, and Lori, wife of David Wegely, Quakertown; two sisters, Virginia J. Paxson, Olympia, WA, and Anne E. Hurd, Lansdale; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William B. Fitchner.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday December 29, 2017 from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
