E. Irene (Gennaria) Reiter, 87, wife of Joseph R. Reiter, Big Rd., Lower Frederick Twp., died Thursday, December 28, 2017, Greenfield Sr. Living Of Perkiomen Valley, Schwenksville.

Irene was born on March 4, 1930, in Upper Providence Twp., to the late Henry B. and Edna (Emery) Gennaria. She was a Collegeville – Trappe High.

Irene was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Obelisk, where she volunteered with the Willing Workers.

In her younger years, Irene enjoyed bowling and attending stock car races. She continued to be a avid Philly sports fan watching games from the comfort of her recliner. Spending time with her family was her greatest pleasure. Vacations to Disney world with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them learn to swim in her pool were favorites. She and her husband celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 1.

In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by her son, Douglas J., husband of Kathy (Grater) Reiter, Lower Frederick Twp.; her grandsons, Kristian, husband of Leah (Kurpiel) Reiter, Matthew, husband of Karen (Ritter) Reiter, Kyle, husband of Ashley (Rhoads) Reiter, and Travis, husband of Pier (Salamone) Reiter; and her great-grandchildren, Ella, Jonah, Violet, Asher, Juliet, Bennett, Harrison, and Penelope Reiter. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Harvey J. Gennaria, Harold A. Gennaria, Robert E. Gennaria, and Doris G. Moyer.

A memorial service will be held at Noon, Friday, January 5th, at the Bay Pony Inn, 508 Old Skippack Rd, Lederach, PA 19450, with the Rev. Paul E. Chapman, Pastor, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, officiating. A luncheon will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 to Noon, Friday, at the restaurant.
