DOUGLASSVILLE » If you’re tuning in to the brand new game show “Child Support,” you may notice a familiar face among the panels.

Abigail Eckstein, 7, of Douglassville, is among a group of 15 children featured on the first episode of ABC’s “Child Support,” which made its debut Friday night.

“Abigail has been in modeling and acting since she was 9 months old,” said Abigail’s mother, Bonnie Eckstein. “We were fortunate enough to get an audition through her agent. The auditions were in fall of 2016 and we found out she was selected and went to New York City in January 2017 with a bunch of other really funny, talented kids.”

Abigail and her mother spent five days in the city during the taping, where Eckstein says Abigail was introduced to all the other children who would be on the panel.

“She absolutely loved her time in New York and has made some lifelong friends. We keep in touch with some of the other kids. She is beyond excited for the show to premier. Her classmates have been saying they saw her on TV and everyone has been commenting on the commercials. She’s really excited,” said Eckstein.

The show, hosted by Fred Savage, features adult contestants and interactions between a panel of children and comedian Ricky Gervais. The adult contestants are asked a series of 10 questions by Savage. If they fail to answer correctly, they can ask for assistance from a panel of kids, accompanied by Ricky Gervais. Contestants have a chance to win up to $200,000.

Eckstein says that’s really all they know about the show and that even they are anticipating the premier with excitement to finally see what happens.

“We’re having a viewing party with friends and family. We’re really excited for the premier tonight and to see how everything comes together,” said Eckstein.

Abigail is the only girl of six children in the Eckstein family, all of whom but the youngest are involved in acting. Eckstein says Abby is excited to follow in the footsteps of her triplet brothers, Alex, Ben and Caleb. They have been acting since they were 1 year old in shows including “All My Children,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “Ugly Betty.” Her older brother, Christian Eckstein, also acts and has been in “Seven Seconds” and “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

Abigail’s previous professional experience has included modeling for companies like Boscov’s, Stella Cove and 32 Degrees as well as a small acting role in “Madame Secretary.”

When she isn’t performing, Abby attends second grader at Amity Elementary Center.
