Burglary, robbery top reported crimes

Burglary, substance violations and robbery were each reported three times in the borough since Jan. 2.

POTTSTOWN »Burglary, substance violations and robbery were the most reported crimes in Pottstown over the past week.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a policerun website used to inform the public about crime in their area, burglary, substance violations and robbery were each reported three times since Jan. 2. Robberies involving firearms were reported on Robinson Street and the 200 block of Shoemaker Road, along with a strong arm robbery on Nightingal­e Street. Public drunkennes­s was reported twice on High Street and the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue along with one case of drug possession on the 200 block of Walnut Street. Burglaries were reported on the 300 block of East High Street, the 100 block of North Franklin Street and the 500 block of North York Street.

Retail theft, assault and harassment were each reported twice over the past week. Both retail thefts were reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road while an assault with a knife was reported on the 400 block of South Street and an assault involving hands, feet and fists occurred on the 300 block of Chestnut Street. Harassment was reported on North Franklin Street and the 300 block of Rowan Alley.

Weapons offenses, fraud, vandalism and vehicle break-ins were all reported once. A weapons offense was reported on the 200 block of East High Street while fraud was reported on West Ninth Street. Criminal mischief to vehicles was reported on the 200 block of Henry Street and a vehicle breakin occurred on North Hanover Street.
