Authorities investigate cause of crash
LIMERICK » Police are continuing to investigate after a crash Tuesday evening left five people injured.
Limerick Police said in a release Wednesday that they are working in conjunction with Montgomery County Detectives after a two-vehicle crash occurred on the 100 block of Game Farm Road at approximately 7:36 p.m.
Police said a Ford Edge and a Honda Civic collided in a head-on crash resulting in injuries to the drivers of both vehicles and the passengers of the Honda Civic.
According to police, the male driver of the Honda Civic and a male passenger were extricated and flown to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia by Penn Star medical helicopter. Two additional male passengers in the Honda Civic were transported to Reading Hospital in West Reading.
Additionally, the male driver of the Ford Edge was transported to Phoenixville Hospital for injuries.
Police did not release the names or ages of the drivers or passengers and said that the extent of their injuries is not currently known.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
Assisting police at the scene were Limerick Fire Company, Royersford Friendship, Plymouth and Lower Providence ambulances.
Game Farm Road remained closed for several hours as the scene was cleared.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
