Clark leads Pottsgrove past Pope John Paul II

Junior scores 25 as Falcons win fourth straight

Manny Clark scored a gamehigh 25 points and the Pottsgrove boys basketball team used a 36-point third quarter to down Pope John Paul II, 79-68 in a Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division matchup on Monday night.

Clark connected twice from 3-point land while Jayden Blakey hit four times from deep on the way to 18 points for Pottsgrove (3-3 PAC Frontier, 6-9 overall). Mike Ziegler added 15 points in the win while Justin Robinson and Jason Hein finished with eight points apiece.

Aidan McCarthy led a trio of double-digit scorers for PJP (33, 5-10) with 18 points including four 3-pointers. Shane McConnell and Julien Andrews had 11 points each while Dan Cirino had 10. UPPER PERKIOMEN 76, POTTSTOWN 71 » Ryan Kendra scored a game-high 37 points to lead the Tribe past the Trojans in a PAC Frontier Division contest.

Kendra knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and finished 11-for-16 from the line while Liam Boyle scored 15 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the line. Upper Perk held a 41-28 lead at the half, then survived a late push by Pottstown, as the Trojans held a 43-35 second-

half scoring advantage.

Tre Bass led Pottstown with 19 points while Tyshaun Harvey scored 16. Floyd Dashiell and Anthony Brown scored 13 points apiece. WEST-MONT CHRISTIAN 48, WEST CHESTER CHRISTIAN 43 » The Wings picked up a non-conference win against W.C. Christian.

Cole Johnson led the way with 16 points while Francis Johnson added 15 and Tyler Fox scored eight.

Girls basketball

POTTSTOWN 52, UPPER PERKIOMEN 16 » Ebony Reddick scored 22 points and grabbed 11 boards while Reilly Owens scored 10 as the Trojans routed the Tribe in their PAC Frontier Division matchup.

Reddick scored 16 points during the first half as Pottstown jumped out to a 3512 lead. Kiyah Cotton added eight points in the win. Olivia Rogers led Upper Perk with nine points on a trio of 3-pointers. WEST-MONT CHRISTIAN 39, DELAWARE VALLEY FRIENDS 31» The Wings picked up a Tri-County League win over Del-Valley Friends.

Ariel Collins scored 10 points while Mikayla Hallman added seven points. MERCY TECHNICAL 44, PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 31 » The Panthers dropped a TCL contest against Mercy C&T.

Maddy Parisi had 17 points while Jill Kachmar

ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 75, POPE JOHN PAUL II 69 » The Golden Panthers recorded three first-place finishes and set eight school records during their non-conference win over Carroll on Sunday.

Josh Murtaugh finished first overall in the 100 breast with a time of 1:15.50 while Kaden Buchler claimed the 500 free with a time of 6:15.44. The pair each also swam of leg of PJP's top-finishing 200 medley relay (2:15.79). Lindsey Piontek posted a pair of individual silver finishes — a 31.03 in the 50 free and a 6:45.22 in the 500 free, which were both school records. Maddie D'Elia finished second in the 200 IM (3:22.93) and the 100 fly (1:37.22).
