Spring-Ford girls take down Freedom, 55-47

Bolstered by their 19-point first quarter, the Spring-Ford girls basketball team picked up a 5547 non-conference win over Freedom on Tuesday night.

Abby Goodrich finished with a team-high 18 points while Lucy Olsen followed with 16 as Spring-Ford (20-2 overall) extended its early lead to a 32-20 advantage by the half. Olsen shot an impressive 12-for-12 from the foul line where SpringFord shot a collective 15-for19. Haily Silfies led Freedom with 22 points while Kyra Jefferson added nine. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 37, CRISTO REY 30 » The Panthers picked up a non-conference win against Cristo Rey’s JV team.

Maddy Parisi scored 27 points while Tera Heintz added eight.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 101, NORRISTOWN 65 » The Vikings claimed all but one event on the way to a PAC win over the Eagles.

Andrew Derrick had a pair of individual firsts, taking top times in the 200 IM with a 2:37.06 to go along with a 1:04.50 in the 100 fly. The contingent of Matt Marsh, Ethan Hinz, Dylan Alexander and Ryan Keenan claimed both the 200 free (1:51.51) and 400 free (4:08.02) relays. Mario Brown had Norristown’s lone first-place finish, taking top honors in the 50 free (28.25). METHACTON 126, POTTSGROVE 28 » The Warriors swept through all three relays and only dropped a pair of individual events on the way to a PAC win over the Falcons.

Steven Zeng had a pair of individual firsts for Methacton, taking top honors in the 200 IM (2:12.77) and 100 back (1:01.23) along with a leg in the 400 free relay (3:57.17). Michael Palumbo swam a pair of firstplace relays and also took top honors in the 100 fly (58.45). For Pottsgrove, Patrick Agnew had a pair of top times, touching first in the 100 free (51.43) and the 50 free (22.46).

Alyssa Marano was part of four first-place finishes, taking an individual first in the 50 free with a time of 30.10 while swimming a leg of all three relays.

Elizabeth Turner, Emily Hinz and Colleen O’Brien were each part of three top times. Turner took first in the 200 free (2:24.88), Hinz the 100 fly (1:19.51) and O’Brien the 100 free (1:07.59). Victoria Zang took four first-place finishes, topping the charts in the 200 IM (2:20.24) and 100 free (57.85) to go along with legs in the 200 medley (1:55.29) and 200 free (1:45.02) relays. Grace Kang was part of the 400 free relay and took individual firsts in the 200 free (2:13.68) and the 100 back (1:08.45).
