Edward Joseph ‘Ed’ Woznicki, 90, of Douglassville

Edward Joseph “Ed” Woznicki, 90, long-time Douglassville resident, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 of natural causes.
Ed, son of the late Adam and Bertha (Tanski) Woznicki, was born in Plains Township, PA on June 19, 1927. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Preparatory School, Orchard Lake, Michigan, and served in the U.S. Army in World War II before attending King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1951. He was married to Pauline (Poplasky) Woznicki for 62 years.
Ed worked for the US Food and Drug Administration early in this working life, but his main career focus was dyes and colors for the food and pharmaceutical industry, first with Crompton & Knowles Corporation, Gibralter, PA and then with Colorcon, Lansdale, PA, where he served as director of research. Ed retired at 70 and spent many sunny days on the golf course, in his woodworking shop, and hanging out with his best buddy, his dog Molly.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, his sister Geraldine Pugliese, and brother Robert Woznicki. He is survived by wife, his six children and their spouses: Thomas (Julie) Woznicki, San Jose, CA; Paula (Dan) Pettit, Tulsa, OK; Kathryn (Greg) Saylor, Union Township, PA; Lisa (Craig) Rozycki, Robeson Township, PA; Linda (Henry) Coyne, Royersford, PA; and Mark Woznicki, Aptos, CA; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann Woznicki, brother-in-law Dominic Pugliese, and many other family members and friends.
Ed’s life will be celebrated at the Mass of the Christian Burial on Friday, February 9, 2018 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, 905 Chestnut Street, Douglassville, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will precede the Mass at the church from 9:30AM to 10:45AM.
Ed was a big supporter of Catholic education. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Immaculate Conception Academy in memory of Edward J. Woznicki.
