Frank (Babe) Allison, 84, of Royersford

Frank (Babe) Allison, 84, of Royersford, formerly of Redington Shores, FL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville. He was the husband of Jean Cline-Allison.

Born in Coaldale, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes (Yushinsky) Allison.

Babe graduated from Tamaqua High School in 1952 and went on to serve in the US Coast Guard for 4 years. He began his career as a businessman running a route for Valley Maid Potato Chips in Phoenixville for sixteen years. He then moved on to owning and running his businesses with his family. He owned the Vincent Motel in Spring City for two years, the Nittany Manor Motel in State College for twelve years, Park Towne Beverage in Royersford for twenty years, then the Amish Wood Furniture in Royersford before retiring to Florida. He returned to the local area to work again at the family business, where he loved spending time talking with everyone. Babe enjoyed bowling in local leagues, playing cards with family & friends, watching sports-especially football, and fishing for Grouper in the Gulf of Mexico. He was an active lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #814 in Pottstown, the Liberty Steam Fire Co. in Spring City, the American Legion Post #602 in Spring City and the American-Italian Bocce Club in Royersford.

Surviving along with his wife is one daughter Katie Harris, wife of Jim, of North Coventry; one son Pat Allison of Royersford; three grandchildren, Skyler Harris, Devon Allison, and Patrick Allison, Jr.; one brother Ernie Allison; five stepchildren Patty Purcell-Moyer wife of Scott, Karen Purcell, Andy Purcell, Mark Purcell, and John Purcell, Jr.; three step-grandchildren Patience DeAngelo, Michael DeAngelo, and Kelly Grady, wife of Kevin, Jr; three step-great grandchildren Isaiah DeAngelo, Addison DeAngelo, and Kevin Grady, III; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with his parents, his brother, Jim Allison and his grandson, Chris Harris, predeceased Frank.

A funeral service will be held Monday February 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, with Fr. Tadeusz Gorka officiating. Interment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:0010:45 AM at the funeral home.
