-

Lorinda E. (Platt) Coulter, 80, wife of the late John H. Coulter, Jr., Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale, died due to complications from pneumonia on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Einstein Medical Center. She was a former resident of Collegeville and Green Lane.

Lorinda was born on April 27, 1937, in Southbury, CT, one of seven children, to the late Isaac and Ruth (Hveem) Platt. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut/Yale School of Nursing.

While raising her children she was a nursery school teacher at Palm Country Day School. In her nursing career she began as a visiting nurse, was then Director of Nursing at Peter Becker Community Home, and after that worked many years as a nurse supervisor at Norristown State Hospital. In retirement she worked at the Town & Country True Value Hardware Garden Center in Limerick.

Lorinda was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, United Church Of Christ in Collegeville. An avid gardener, she was a member of local gardening clubs, and was devoted to helping maintain the beautiful gardens at Collegeville Borough Hall and Trinity UCC. Nowhere was her gardening talent more evident than in her own “English flower garden” backyard. She was also a longtime member of the Red Hat Society. Among her other hobbies and interests were wool rug braiding, sewing and collecting antiques. Being very civic minded, she was a faithful election pole volunteer for many years. Sports were a big part of her life, which included cheering on her grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Phillies and Eagles on TV, along with college football and March Madness. She made certain that her time here on Earth did not end prior to the Eagles Super Bowl win. She will long be remembered for her dynamic personality, generosity, sense of style and strong devotion to family and friends.

Lorinda is survived by her daughters, Meg, wife of Tony Cinelli, Worcester Twp., Kate, wife of Jim Milko, Annapolis, MD, and Ginger, wife of Eddie Roelle, Franklin, TN; her grandchildren, TJ Cinelli, Michael Cinelli, Alex Weldon, Sean Milko, and Emily Milko.
