I was a federal employee from 1967 to 1969 as a soldier in the U.S. Army. Military personnel worked together for the good of the country with no regard to race, religion, statute in life or political affiliation. If only our politicians would follow the military’s example. Jim Fitch

Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics, men are 11 times more likely to be killed on the job than women. It is such data which explains most of the so-called wage gap. Women simply do not gravitate to say, high-wage mining or timbering jobs. While terms of uninterrupted service also affect wages, glass ceilings do remain problematic, e.g., of 24 senior positions in Gov. Wolf’s former company, only two are held by women. Mark Furlong This is for the people that visit the Pottstown Post Office on High Street. When you’re there, it’s not a social visit. You go up and hand them your packages. And please make sure your packages are already packaged, don’t ask the postal worker to package them for you. You do that before you get there. Again it’s not a social visit, do your business and leave. I’m just there for a book of stamps. I don’t need to hear your life story.

To the person who got a $15 raise on Social Security, anyone I talked to has only gotten a $2 raise. I got no raise. So you are lucky. AA

For the person calling the Republicans hypocrites, let me remind you that the Republicans always said that it is either their way or the highway. Fact

I just got my license renewed at Keim and High streets at Commonwealth Auto Tag. Good people very nice. They need one more person in there to make it go quicker. And would somebody buy some new furniture and paint the place? It could be a bigger place too. My goodness, those people work in a closet.

Columnist E.J. Dionne always validates how delusional the left is.

Just wondering why the police can’t fine or have vehicles towed that are parked on the street illegally. It certainly would be an improvement and could also bring in some revenue. It would mean some paperwork though. Frustrated

To the secretary of transportation, you said four things that the infrastructure plan will do and pay for but you forgot the most very important one of all — No. 5, the American citizen taxpayers will be the ones that pay for it when things rise in cost and when taxes go up. We will be the ones to pay for it, not the government. Get the facts straight. Gees, we aren’t this stupid.

How many people realize how convenient Pottstown and Sanatoga are? They are centered within Exton, Reading, Exeter, Allentown and King of Prussia as well as Philadelphia and Allentown airports lending them to convenience, shopping and culture. Think about it. An Opportunist

Ed Hanna, the meteorologist for WFMZ, our Berks station, has been out three months. He needed time for himself because physically and mentally he was worn out. They’ve had several meteorologists come in taking his place. Does anybody know if Ed is coming back to the station? I thought he did a great job.

I’d like to make a comment about Jay Miller’s comment. It seems like he exemplifies the old saying that figures don’t lie but liars figure. He keeps coming up with these numbers like this $500,000 he said Paul Ryan got from the Koch Brothers. Where did he come up with that number? Boy if he can make up numbers that well he should be in the government himself.

My husband and I were in an accident Feb. 9 at King and Manatawny streets. I would like to thank everyone that helped us.

Hardly a day doesn’t go by that more comes out of how scandalous and abusive the FBI and the CIA’s conduct has been in this so-called investigation of President Trump and Russia. More like a major frame-up. It appears the only thing they’re able to accomplish all the time is to continue to keep everything wrapped up as to what really happened during President Kennedy’s assassination. You all can think about it.
