Barto: A free community lunch will take place at noon today at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100. Everyone is welcome. The weekly Lenten Worship Service will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bethel UMC

Spring City: A Lenten Service hosted by the East Coventry Union of Churches will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road. Rev. Robert E. Devalt II of Parkerford Baptist will preach.

First Presbyteri­an

Pottstown: Scout Sunday will be celebrated during the 10:30 a.m. worship at First Presbyteri­an Church. New Officer orientatio­n will be held immediatel­y following worship. Faith and Nature will be having their annual winter walk at Althouse Arboretum.

St. Mary’s RCC

Schwenksvi­lle: Lenten Dinner, will be held every Friday beginning Feb. 23 until March 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Saint Mary Parish, 40 Spring Mount Road. Either sit down or take out is available. Menu items include, fried fish platter, meatless spaghetti with buttered bread, and grilled cheese with a choice of two sides, a beverage and homemade dessert, in addition to weekly specials. Centennial Lutheran Kimberton: An Ash Wednesday worship service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road.

Christ Lutheran

Barto: There will be a Coffee Hour in the parlor immediatel­y following the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, to honor parish musician, Joe DiCindio, on his last day at the church. A mid-week Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the parlor.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk: The Praise Service will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, in the Fellowship

Hall led by the church’s Praise Band Messenger.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: Boy Scout Sunday will be observed during Sunday’s worship service at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road. Scouts from Troop 230 will participat­e in the service. The Church Council will serve a dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Devotions, discussion and music will be part of the Lenten service which will follow the meal.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: A meeting of the Pennsylvan­ia South East Conference will be hosted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday by Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. The church will host a joint Bible Study with Zion’s UCC at 10 a.m. on Thursday. All are welcome.

Pottstown: The Memorial Service for Carter Lester Watkins aka “Bootsie” will be held at 11 a.m. today at Bethel Community church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. Black History Celebratio­n will continue at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with the Rev. Dr. Aidsand “Ace” WrightRigg­ins, first black Mayor of Collegevil­le as guest preacher. Men of Valor will lead in worship and the Men of Valor Men’s Choir will be singing. The church’s food pantry distributi­on and new applicatio­ns are being accepted at 6 p.m. on Monday. Senior Box distributi­on and new applicatio­ns are being accepted at noon on Wednesday. Youth Fun Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and is open to all youth of Pottstown.

Gilbertsvi­lle: A special litany of Thanksgivi­ng, Retirement and Blessing will be shared during the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church to wish Sexton/Custodian, Dale Shaner, well upon his retirement. Following worship, all are invited to Memorial Hall for a time of fellowship and thanks to Dale for his 18 years. The Senior Breakfast Group will meet at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at Saville’s Restaurant. The Community Clothing Rack will be open for clothing distributi­on from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Soup Supper is at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: Rev. Austin Chinault returns to the pulpit on Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. service at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. Beginning Thursday, Rev. Chinault and Trinity’s Pastor Nichole Jackson will share leadership of a study of the book of Mark. It will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 through March 22. Please let the pastor know if you are interested. Women’s Fellowship’s annual February Cakeless Bake Sale will be held throughout the month. Donations may be put in the Sunday offering plate. Volunteers from the church will prepare and serve the community meal at noon on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Brownback’s UCC
