It was a tough time for Daniel Boone wrestlers at Thursday’s South Central 3A Regional Tournament.

Three Blazers made the trek to Hershey’s Giant Center in hopes of qualifying for the PIAA Class 3A Championships in two weeks. But only one made it through the day’s sessions still in the medal hunt, the others going two-and-out to see their seasons end.

Canton Dolla was the bright spot for Boone, going 2-1 on the day.

The Blazer freshman (25-5), who was coming off a second-place finish in the District 3-3A Section 1 tournament last weekend, was dropped in the wrestlebacks at 106 by Northern York’s Liam Strouse. But he responded with a 3-2 decision of Donegal’s Ethan Herr and a 5-0 victory over Manheim Township’s Micah Sams.

Dolla will now face Central Dauphin’s Josh Miller when the regional resumes Friday. He is two wins away from qualifying for the bracket’s third-place match.

Sam Zummo and Devin Dolla both bowed out of the tournament at 126 and 138, respectively. Zummo closed out his junior campaign with a 23-17 record while Dolla, a sophomore, closed out at 18-19.

Zummo was dropped into wrestlebacks by Spring-Grove’s Dalton Rohrbaugh, then eliminated by Red Land’s Bryce Brennan. Dolla, in turn, was dropped into wrestlebacks by Northern York’s Paul Feite before falling to Dallastown’s Sam Druck.
